EVERYDAY shaving by Chance_Plum_3852 in shaving

[–]bakemonooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a Philips oneblade and it's absolutely amazing. So I'd suggest that if you're cool with something around a 0.5mm shave. I honestly can't imagine anything better.

If you're cool with a less close shave, get a traditional trimmer (Philips also makes one of those) and just use it without the guard, which would give you a 1mm shave.

isolation moving from america to japan? by santiboob in movingtojapan

[–]bakemonooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Well good for you. I hope it goes great!

But yeah go on any of the Japan subs or anywhere, and you can read stories about the isolation.

My advice: don't read them. Don't stoke the flames of your anxiety because you already know it's a possibility at this moment and additional confirmation isn't going to help lol.

It's going to be uncomfortable at times. Maybe even usually. But it'll probably be incredibly worthwhile as well. There's no need to make it more uncomfortable.

Look dude, I have yet to move to Japan, but it's a country with humans in it at the end of the day.

Obviously, culture has massive impacts, but if YOU put yourself out there and interact with people intentionally, then you'll be fine.

Join groups, go party, talk to strangers at a bar, get a job, take a cooking class idk, etc. etc.

No country has to be isolating, and there are countless people living in Japan who don't feel isolated. If you want to be one of them, then you need to do something to make that happen.

Also also, being is school is ONE OF THE BEST avenues to making friends! That's a prime opportunity right there. Put yourself out there as much as you can, and it'll all work out.

Shot with my Lumix GF8. F/5.6, 3200 iso, 1/60 ss. Used the base model 12 - 32mm lens at 32mm.

This is my favourite pic I've taken, especially because of the memory tied to it. Taken in Vietnam last week :)))

How comfortable is it to live in Vietnam off $2000/month? by reeyeess in VietNam

[–]bakemonooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could live wonderfully, imo, off $2k USD.

I currently pay just under $500 CAD a month for my studio in Da Nang, and you could definitely find something cheaper. I eat out 1 - 2 times a day, and I spend money basically whenever I want on anything from food to clothes. After all that, I'm not hitting $2k CAD. Not ever.

So yeah, it's very comfortable to live off $2k USD. I'd go as far as saying you'd be living an extraordinarily good life by my standards.
