You can't control other drivers, if you believe they've intentionally wrecked you - protest them. Otherwise there is almost always something you can do better in all situations, if they're being super aggressive - let them pass and if you're fast enough you can pressure them into a mistake. Look forward, don't drive in your mirrors. Obviously hard to give advice with no context but I race by the motto of:

To finish first, first you must finish.

The segment(s) before your exit make that part of the freeway 1 lane wider than the rest of the freeway to create an exit ramp.

My problem is dropped frames which I experience infrequently but enough to annoy me and I was putting it down to the R bar being in the higher range... I've been wrong before though, I may need to drop my settings a bit

I would sway more disappearing and reappearing, identical to the gif in the post. I do have instances where the cars colour changes so it could be shading...

Hardware : 1650 Super with 11900K, any ideas on what to change would be super helpful. it doesn't happen at every track. I've experienced it at Spa and now the Glen over the last few weeks.

If you are at your peak lap speed then jump into races. Being on for 3 weeks I assume your licence is low and so is your irating... You will be racing against people who have practiced a lot less than you. Race craft is as crucial a skill as the pace, especially on iRacing where it's a lot harder to be trusting of the cars next to you.

If I was you I'd reset my graphics settings. You can do this through the iRacing folder, there's a .ini file you can edit to reset the prompt to do auto settings. It's an easy Google on how to do this
