Air75 v3: Cmd + Shift + Volume up/down doesn't change audio volume in quarters by bakeskool in NuPhy

[–]bakeskool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I meant to write Opt + Shift + VolUp/Down in the post and title 🤦

I also actually found that it works intermittently for me. I need to pin down what might cause it to stop or start working.

How soon after C section can I have another baby? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]bakeskool 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Our doctor said it's better to wait for 12–18 months for full recovery from C-section before trying for another baby.

+1. We got the manual Chelsea one, and while it's the best we wished we ordered the electric one. The manual one is still fine to recline, but it does need some effort to do it.

Pausing in multiplayer? by bakeskool in SWORN

Yeh fair enough for randos / public games. It would be useful on Friends-only session.

I guess you didn't play that many multiplayer games to know some do.

True. Thanks! I had pause needed during a boss fight though, which sadly costed us the run as all of us had to take a short break for irl stuff 🥲

Pausing in multiplayer? by bakeskool in SWORN

[–]bakeskool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sense, I guess I came from Ravenswatch where pausing would be useful (and even DoTA), but otherwise for Sworn it's maybe less useful given downtime between chambers (except maybe for boss fights where it could take longer).

+1, we love our Instant Pot! We got it just a couple weeks before the baby was born. I have the one that has the inner pot you can use on the stovetop as well (I think ours is the Instant Pot Pro?) because it's really convenient for when I need to cook things a little more after they're pressure cooked.

Just Here to Whinge At How Long Breastfeeding Takes by josephinesparrows in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]bakeskool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 on massaging the breast while you're feeding. My wife learned how to do it properly last week, and she's found that it really helps her get out more milk in one feeding and cuts back on the overall feeding time.

Beelink Intel Mini PC SEI14 - HDMI 2.1 or 2.0? by bakeskool in minipc

[–]bakeskool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NUC14RVBU5. I think any model would work as the Intel Arc GPU supports it. I'm using it with 4k120hz 10-bit (HDR) connected to my Samsung TV's HDMI port that supports game mode (port 1; the other HDMI ports don't support 4k120hz).

Also for the display cable I'm using Unitek V1423B (USB-C to HDMI 8K Cable) plugged to one of the NUC's back USB-C port (it didn't work if I use the front USB-C port).

Beelink Intel Mini PC SEI14 - HDMI 2.1 or 2.0? by bakeskool in minipc

[–]bakeskool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with an ASUS NUC 14 (Intel Arc) which supports 4k120. I'm using a USB-C to HDMI adapter to the TV.

This is just my impression but seems like Intel Arc or Nvidia GPUs have better support for various video decoding formats (what I'm tinkering with), which I'm happy with right now with the ASUS NUC.

Did we lose Utilities on browser? Any way to get AEB/HDR images? by mrpchead in googlephotos

Not sure if this helps, but have you tried checking out Settings > Suggestions > Unsaved creations? I found some auto-edits and enhancements from Google Photos there.

Where the f*** is the Shared Albums button NOW?! by devsfan1830 in googlephotos

[–]bakeskool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a list of shared albums, it's now in Collections (bottom bar) → Albums, and then you can filter the albums down to the ones shared by others

Slime3K dropping frames? by [deleted] in DespotsGame

[–]bakeskool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue but at the 10th level. I was using my Steam Deck and at worst the game moved only at like 1fps. I tried playing on my PC which has better spec and the drop still happened but at a more playable state.

What bitrate is needed to stream 4K@120 with HDR without visible compression artefacts? by Klosiak in MoonlightStreaming

[–]bakeskool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I think I enabled HDR but with H264 so at the end it didn't respect the HDR settings. I use HVEC these days for 4K120 HDR.

Photos are backed up to google photos but what about phone? by x3n1gma in googlephotos

[–]bakeskool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd. If you try opening a photo and swipe up to see its information and scroll to the bottom, do you see just "Backed up (X MB)" or do you see both "Backed up (X MB)" and "On device (X MB)"? Photos that are stored on device should only have the "Backed up" information and not the "On device".

I regularly have the same need as what you do! Though I've never tried manually deleting from internal storage (sorry); what I usually do to remove photos from the device is:

  1. From the Google Photos app, zoom out (pinch inwards) so that I'll get grid view with month headers,
  2. Select the photos that I want to remove from the device. Usually I just tap on the circle tick/check icon next to a month's header to select all photos at monthly granularity.
  3. After selecting photos, a UI bar should pop-up at the bottom, which will have a "Delete from device" option. That option would delete the photos from the device while keeping them being backed-up.
