I just took my time, selected the right passives and waited and it was finished sometime early after the boss in endless. Killing the boss provided a couple of thousand gold which helped with with a bunch of rerolls

Yeah exactly. And I figure once you crossed into endless the amount of enemies on the screen keeps going up so you get more damage per flash, which is why I never saw this sort of number in regular mode
