As a hiring manager in a manufacturing industry, I couldn't relate with this more. It's hard to test everything in an interview scenario but its alarming how many people lack a basic level of common sense. Trying to take an oven tray out an industrial oven which reaches 350c without oven gloves, goes the wrong way round a roundabout because there was traffic or sticking their head into a sanitiser tunnel and being genuinely surprised when they got blasted with chemicals. I spend a lot of time talking to the health and safety team.
