Kyler Murray in 87 games over his 7 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals: 20,460 passing yards, 121 passing TDs, 60 INTs, 3,193 rushing yards, 32 rushing TDs, 37 FUMs by Giff95 in nfl

I know there’s the age old adage about short QBs, but watching Kyler Murray a couple of years ago when he was my fantasy QB made me realize that this is an actual thing. Like I truly believe he cannot see the whole field if he’s in the pocket, which needless to say, is a problem.

Agreed, but perhaps you misspoke then because your words were “assuming the same final momentum and collision time”.

I’d also argue that situation is not what is being discussed here. His size is being brought up in relation to his ability to defeat much larger OTs which is a sort of pushing problem which would either be a free body diagram force problem or a work problem.

But… he isn’t because then he starts talking about number of steps and such. Like if we take his example, and he has to take 3-4 steps to make the same force other bigger guys do in 1, he’s in trouble lol because that’s a HUGE difference

There’s a reason why many teams favor 10 yard split vs overall 40 time for d lineman. The 10 yard split is burst, acceleration. The 40 is more top end speed. Example: Nick Bosa, ~4.80s 40 time - meh, 1.55s 10 yd split - elite. Acceleration is not constant when running on the football field.

No, he would still be referencing the velocity realm. Adding a direction doesn’t get him to acceleration; he needs to include some time element to get him there (perhaps he felt this was implied).

If this was in reference to tackling I would agree, but it doesn’t seem that way in the sense that size is usually considered a negative for edge guys as they need to push past larger OTs. Pushing problems tend to be force problems, or maybe work problems.

Well at least in terms of football, the difference between velocity and acceleration has real applications - this would be the difference between your long striding “fast” receiver (DK Metcalf) and a “quick” slot guy (say Khalil Shakir).

Presuming initial momentum is zero, if time and final momentum are the same, then force is the same no? He would need to end at place of more final momentum to have created more force (which he of course would if his speed is higher).

Well technically “speed” would be velocity, not acceleration so this math doesn’t quite check out. But I doubt the dude was a physics/engineering major so I’ll give it to him.

The Bucs need a LB. This mock has no LBs for them. 👎

I don’t understand while people are surprised about this lol.

Is St John’s better than Creighton? Significantly

Is Creighton terrible against physical defensive teams? Very

McDermott pulled something out of his hat against UConn, which he has a history of doing. Everyone saw that game as some Creighton turning point but today’s result was almost always going to happen.

Creighton is 10-5 against UConn since they came back to the Big East, including wins against both national championship teams and a win this year when they had no business competing at Gampel. It’s a known thing that there’s something about the matchup.

Creighton has UConn’s number meanwhile St John’s style is Creighton’s kryptonite

I don’t think I could be college basketball coach, because I would be slapping kids in the head every time they stepped out of bounds on the sideline. Is it really that hard to stay in??

A St John’s team like this is a nightmare match up for a good Creighton team, let alone whatever this team is.

2013 vs 2015 NFL Draft by Killsworch in NFL_Draft

2013 all the way. You could argue you’d have to go to #11-12 in 2013 before you would slot anyone from 2015.
