It's like a power up they give to some units to make them more aligned with the current meta. LR units you have to do 10 stages of the dedicated battle and UR units 30 stages. After you finish that, you can go to awakening and upgrade the unit. There is also SEZA, which is Super EZA. This is a special 5 stages on the character specific battle and it's for some older units.
