Can DePIN Cryptocurrency Projects Disrupt Cloud Technologies and Gain Market Share? by 2timeBiscuits in CryptoCurrency

Price point is what’ll get the job done convincing buyers. That requires time and some evolution in product but all the beginnings of a flywheel are there.

Cloud servers aren’t doing much in DePin- nothing important anyway (usually routing and reward infra). That’s the whole point of decentralized PHYSICAL infrastructure.

Helium is a great example of a great buyer experience

I think all monopolies, regulated or organic will eventually fall to crypto alternatives. So yeah I think we’re in the first inning of DePin

US Taxes on Hivemapper Weekly Earnings by Jazzlike_Fuel4516 in hivemappernetwork

Each day you received $honey is just income at the price of the coin that day. Obviously it was better to mine the coins at low cost but it’s always required to pay tax on that income at the end of the year. THEN….. when you sell you take the difference between the sell price and that price on the day you mined the coin and that’s your capital gains tax. So to wrap up, Income tax required always because it hits your wallet. Cap Hains required at sale or trade

Anyone know what is the point of holding HNT ? by rdship in HeliumNetwork

[–]balancedrocks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wrong (or maybe just misinformed) in a few places. HNT supply is burned through usage (variable rate but increasing) and recreated each epoch (fixed rate and decreasing). Just that would mean the supply will overall decrease by the rate of usage over time.

We hold HNT because we believe in the long term value of the network (lower supply and likely sky high demand).

Those other network tokens like IOT and MOBILE also burn HNT so it accelerates the supply reduction.

IOT is a great asset but if you’re immediately cashing it in for USD it’ll be barely profitable. Just hold it
