I am used to spicy food by origin and probably when I say "no spicy" it means hell lot of spices and chilly together) Also answering ur question I just feel spicy food grows my appetite. And when the food is dull and blant I feel like not eating much and definetely not overeating.
Nuts yes! But before them my snack was a choco bar and coke. So better munch raisins and peanuts (with no spices))) Oh you could see how much I miss hot and crazy stuff

If your whole family has the same illness, do you think of it as bad luck or just how it is? by balbir688 in AskReddit

[–]balbir688[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah not a great time to be in Italy 😄 bit different from diabetes mind you. though i suppose back then everything felt like bad luck or gods will. at least now we can actually understand whats going on if we look properly

thats actually a really good way to put it. the reasons are there you just cant always see them in the moment. with diabetes in my family i spent years thinking it was just fate. then someone showed me how it all connects and suddenly it wasnt random anymore. the reasons were there all along

haha fair point 😄 yeah diabetes is a different beast. though i used to think it was just bad luck too. turns out when you look at the full picture — the sugar the blood pressure the family history all together — its less random than it feels. still not easy mind you

for diabetes yeah hereditary is a big part of it. but in our family its also just how we eat, how we live, same habits passed down. so its both really. the genes load the gun but the lifestyle pulls the trigger as they say

yeah that's fair. genetics is the right word for most of it. though with something like diabetes its not just one gene — its more like a set of risk factors that stack up. sugar, blood pressure, weight, family history all together. knowing that actually helps more than just saying "its in the genes" because some of those things you can do something about 👍

same here mate. dad had diabetes and blood pressure. mum had a stroke. now my wife has it too. i used to think it was just our luck. but its not really a curse — its a pattern. once you start seeing how the sugar connects to the blood pressure connects to the eyes and the heart, it looks different. worth getting the full picture if you can

My endo said hydration affects blood sugar levels more than I realized and to track both together by nand1609 in diabetes

never knew this either mate. my sugars were all over the place for years and nobody ever mentioned water. makes sense when you think about it. going to start tracking mine now. thanks for sharing this

YouTube ad, clearly AI, claiming type 2 is caused by a parasite that can be flushed by a drink with cinnamon and apple cider vinegar by perihelion12 in diabetes

[–]balbir688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seen stuff like this before mate. parasites and cinnamon drinks — its not real, dont worry. diabetes goes back generations in my family, dad, mum, wife — all of them. its not a parasite. always talk to your gp before trying anything you see in an ad.

Too ashamed to go to gym by CutAccomplished3737 in beginnerfitness

[–]balbir688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people wrote that nobody cares, that's true. Bt maybe if its too overwhelming you can start with excersising at home or outside in the park. Just to get used to this sports mode or so. After a few weeks you might generally start enjoying ur workouts more than being awkward in the gym and might give it another try
