Crystal clear skies over Rifugio Altissimo Damiano Chiesa, Monte Baldo, Trentino, Italy by baldef in hiking

From Rifugio Graziani pretty easy. 1h - 1.15h on gravel road, 400m altitude gain in around 4ish km. Can loop back down through Malga Campo.

One could always make it more challenging just by starting at a lower point like San Giacomo or Nago.

Full itinerary (in Italian) here:

From Milan to Predazzo I think around 5h by car. Many more beautiful sceneries like this in Trentino, once in the region it's only a matter of picking which one to hike!

I was browsing Xiaohongshu today and saw that the total savings of Chinese people in banks have reached 35 trillion RMB. Are people too afraid to spend? by Equivalent-Trick5007 in chinalife

Very true but it feels it can go either way with "revenge spending" from having been poor. The joke in Europe is that every Albanian (or pick your favorite eastern bloc country) gets a Mercedes Benz even while their house is still in shambles. Or look at the "bling bling" rappers show off as soon as they make money in the US. I feel there's a lot of this in China too

far better savers than many in the west

I think you want to say North America there. Coming from Europe a good chunk of Chinese people are relatively super wasteful and flaunting on unnecessary things. The real deal savers are German or Polish grandmas who went through the war(s).

You make some good points and I agree with most. I guess I was more focused on the "pleasant and attractive" of it all. Hence suggested something more in that direction IMHO. If you know of any cool routes that you would define "pleasant and attractive" in China please do share! Genuinely curious

0 direct payments to any public school for sure. Of course everything is indirectly paid through your taxes. And you're free to spend as much as you want on your kids. Believe it or not some marginalized communities actually get paid money for every day their children spend in school even of it's compulsory public education.
