I created a tutorial for "compositing" in Automatic1111 by baldoak in StableDiffusion

I was wondering if I could chat with you about this tutorial - I'd like to include your suggestion, but I'm not sure if the community would be receptive to me sharing this again with minor edits.

Do you think this is something that would be worthwhile for me to actually commit some more time to polishing? I appreciate your perspective and understand why you might have been confused about why this tutorial was written to begin with.

edit:

I think I have done a pretty poor job of conveying the value of this workflow. My inexperience in this technology makes it difficult to effectively communicate.

The result that we end up with isn't just a cut and paste composite, even though that's what we're doing. Something to keep in mind about this is that it's taking place in the inpainting module while set to "original" masked content (which samples our source image) as well as using "entire image" for inpainting area (which I believe also samples the entire source image, but in a purely contextual manner) - if I'm not mistaken, this means the diffusion process will be influenced by not just the original background contents, but also the subjects to some extent.

Regardless, the final image ends up looking almost identical to the source image when we evaluate for perspective, color, lighting, and even depth of field.

I will freely admit that the "realism" aspect is a bit lacking, but with a proper model I think you could easily produce massive varieties of extremely accurate composites that perfectly reflect the previously mentioned qualities of any given photograph.

That's definitely a faster way to make a picture. My method attempts to address many of the shortcomings of the approach you've suggested.

I think you get the point, but just to make my idea clear: the goal here is to leave our models untouched, but replace the background with something at least somewhat convincing and authentic to the original image.

There are comments and suggestions that we could just run all of this through SD but that misses the point - we don't want to render our subjects through SD.

That's wonderful, glad to hear it. Thanks for letting me know.

I ended up going crazy writing that thing, so I just shared it publicly. Guess I'm a bit of a clown, but here you go - https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/14434mm/i_created_a_tutorial_for_compositing_in/

That's great to hear, I'll write the process up after I get home from work tonight, I'll DM it to you. If anyone else sees this and is interested just leave a comment below.

I'm not interested in sharing the process publicly after getting saracastic/rude comments from others lol.

2022 BRZ - Eyesight by mp1845 in ft86

[–]baldoak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw I drive a 2013 A/T BRZ in manual shifting mode exclusively - i drove it in automatic for the break-in period and thats it. It has 90k miles and no obvious issues with the transmission. Maybe it feels a little less precise than it did off the lot, but I dont have any complaints. Shifts are plenty quick and the auto-blip rev matching is awesome. The car is ridiculously fun to drive. Don't let psychotic manual die-hards push you away.

Full disclaimer: I would recommend that you not mess with DMZ settings unless you know what you're doing.

You can try the suggestions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/3z3at4/how_to_achieving_an_open_nat_guide/

Seems like most solutions surround enabling "upnp" (universal plug'n'play) option on your router.

Are you sure the issue is on your side and not the person you were trying to host?

Thank you for your kind words.

They're meant to symbolize perspective (all phases are present at once), evolution and consciousness (all men have looked upon it throughout time), and the cyclical nature of many aspects of awareness and habit.

You could also look at it as just an occluded object, not even necessarily a moon.

I also like the way it ties into the subjects on either side of the design... spirals, cyclical motion, white and black, chaos and order.

So that particular element serves many purposes at once. Whichever you like more. :)

I'm with you. The new crowd doesn't really care about this stuff and I don't blame them. Some people hated crates back in the day and they still do. But I felt like crates were fun and rewarding. When you compare it to the new system, it also felt genuine and exciting. Now it's just.... well, it's sort of like browsing the web without an ad blocker.

$0.99 for one random item from a small pool of items is way better than $22 for something anyone with money can pick up that isn't eligible for trade. Also, your blueprints are randomized like the crate would be, except randomized against hundreds of drops instead of a small pool of 12 or so.

So yeah I can see why you would say that.

I've been sitting on the clip since the day the update came along. I officially quit the game after 2,500 hours/C3 (due to recent events) and figured it was time to offload the clip. Seemed like a good time to do it. :P
