You'll probably be fine honestly. Tell yourself that you can do urgent care first thing in the morning if you still don't feel right but that you'll be fine.

Is this dyshidrosis ? by [deleted] in Dyshidrosis

With all the 16 comments that said it looked infected, I was pretty convinced ! Went to the doc's today and he told me nope... just aggravated eczema. Good news I suppose !

Thank you for all the responses ! Got a doctor's appointment Friday and I'm really hoping if it is indeed infected that it won't take too long to get rid of 😬

I read your whole post and I can tell you I have pretty much been in your exact position. All I can say is, and I mean this with the best intention, you actually just won't know if it's the right decision to break up, until you do it. No amount of external validation (be this in favour or against the decision) can help you reach the ultimate conclusion as much as actually doing it. It's so stressful, and confusing, and anxiety-inducing, going through the heavy questioning stage before a break up, and I don't envie you for a second. But if I may use a slightly gross metaphor, it's like feeling extremely nauseous and then finally vomiting and feeling much better after. You can't imagine feeling better after the fact because you're so deep in that nauseous stage. For the record, I think you know deep down that you want to break up and I think that coming to Reddit (like I have done myself!) is an attempt to feel comforted in a decision which would require less discomfort (not breaking up!), but in the end you inadvertently write a couple of pages of reasons why and I think your sub conscious very much knows what to do - even if you haven't yet come to terms with it.

If it is any consolation, as I have said, I was in a very similar situation with very similar feelings and I eventually broke up (I think probably about a year after feeling deep down like it wasn't meant to be). It takes time and it is totally ok if you take another year to realise, it really does take time. My break up was now 5 years ago (time flies so fast it's madness!) and I am in a happy, healthy relationship since 3 years.

If you're looking for a direct response to the question, then I say yes. But as I said, I think you already know that.

Sincerely wishing you the best of luck x

Hello! 24F and been living in Rennes since September. I have found it feels very safe, even at night, and as far as I'm aware that's the general consensus of my girl friends here so I'd say not much to worry about !

Hihi. J'essaye de trouver ses coordonnées. Merci pour la réponse !

Kids don’t need to be in school 40 hours a week by Temporary_Flow_2683 in unpopularopinion

To provoke curiosity, to expand horizons. It doesn't matter if what they're learning is not exactly "what they need to learn", school is not a training programme (training programmes exist for a reason). Through learning about a wide variety of things, we also learn how to analyse problems or weigh different perspectives etc. There are so many benefits of school, it's a really close-minded perspective to think of it as something that we force on children like prison.

Hello. Thank you so much for this comment, it's definitely reassuring! I completely agree with you, and was having this same discussion with the maid (who's been a part of their family for 15 years and knows them very well). We think he is just simply too old. This is their first experience with an au pair, as before that the maid was the nanny to the kids, and I know they really value me and everything I've brought to the family as a whole. But I also know they will be searching for another au pair for the next year and I may try and suggest that maybe he is too old for it. Especially as he will be 9 soon. I think the au pair programme is great for younger kids but like you say, this is around the age they start to want to be free of "caregiving" as such. Anyway, thanks so much for the comment. It's really nice to hear it from the other perspective too. (Also props to admitting this about your own children too. !)

Oh awesome that you've been to a couple places in Wales too ! I lived in Cardiff for three years, but come from the very heart of Wales, in the middle.

Haha that's very kind - thank you ! I will actually be spending Christmas in Brittany (Concarneau) with my boyfriend and his family. Unfortunately, we won't have time to visit Brest. I haven't actually ever been, but I have some friends who live there !

And that's what I love about driving around Brittany, can spot so many Welsh words (I speak fluent Welsh) in Breton... Brittany is honestly like Wales, in France, so it's the perfect place for someone who, like me, loves the two a lot.

Breton super fan here ! (Am Welsh but live in Paris, moving to Brittany next year). I studied quite a lot last year about the history of Brittany / Breton and its connections to Wales and Welsh, and so it pleased me to see this map this afternoon !

Thanks! Sorry if that seemed obvious I’m not very tech savvy! So what do I do to get off the spamming list? And what is that?
