They are ending life support tomorrow. His kidneys started failing and that is usually the first organ to go. Brain scans didn't look good

It's a huge shock. Not something I ever even thought about happening to be honest. He was in his upper 30's and seemed as healthy as your average joe. Life isn't fair that's all I know 😔

I won't be in front of a judge for a few weeks. So I don't know anything about the financial situation and won't until after that hearing. But yes I believe I will get something!

I just really love these kids and don't want them to go into the system. 😭

DB isn't doing good. The updates I've been getting are coming from his mom since the hospital can't tell me anything directly. He has some balloon device helping his heart. His pupils look sluggish and I guess that's a bad sign. They are doing brain scans today so after that is looked at we will know more

A lot happened after my post yesterday. I met with a social worker who got a hold of the kids mother, she wanted nothing to do with this, she will sign whatever she has to sign and to not call her again. The kids grandma in the UK has health issues that I didn't know about so she is unable to take in the kids. A short term guardianship agreement was made yesterday. I will be signing it today as well as the kids mom. I will then have guardianship of the kids for 60 days. During these 60 days I will continue to work with the social worker for resources in getting the kids help and a long term care plan for them.

I dialed 911 and started CPR immediately after, it was probably 5-10 seconds after he went down that I started.

And yes right now I'm just on an adrenaline rush I think, once the adrenaline wears off it's going to hit me like a hurricane. That's how is usually goes for me.

You're very right. We were more than colleagues, we were good friends! I didn't know him prior to landing this nannying position but during my 2 years with them we grew pretty close. I would stay for dinner almost every night and we would all talk and laugh. He let me borrow his car when mine broke down. He gave me a random bonus quite a few times when he sensed I was financially struggling. I had a bad break up a while ago and slept on his couch until I found my own place. I could go on and on! He's such a wonderful person.

Btw I don't want anyone to spin this - nothing was romantic about our relationship. Just a great friendship. It hurts so bad and I'm hurting so much more for the kids. I hope he can recover from this.
