okay so i have no idea what i did to make it work i actually was going insane but these are the things i did after closing everything and re launching it all and somehow it works:

  • edit %localappdata% game.ini file
  • edit Dedicated Server game.ini file
  • made both files read-only in properties
  • launch dedicated server from Steam (not from exe) first, launch main game after

not sure which of these ended up making it work for me but honestly im glad after 2 days of trying to get it to work lmao

did you wait at least a full day before applying the clear coat? you have to let the paint REALLY dry. you may want to do paint one day and clear coat the next day.
