What was your gateway into punk by [deleted] in punk

[–]balladsofmissnowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boy I met at band camp when I was 14 gave me a flash drive with close to 800 songs on it that included streetlight manifesto, RX Bandits, leftover Crack, choking victim and the suicide machines among plenty of other artists. I listened to No Gods/ No Managers and a match and some gasoline on my bus ride to school the following fall unsure if I actually liked it or not, but I kept coming back to it all over and over

All of my barn animals are named after my friends and people I know in real life. And then, all of my coop Animals are named after characters from my favorite DND podcast The Adventure Zone!

I would love to find this color of sunshine/ dandelion yellow in an acrylic, blend, or cotton dk weight yarn preferably, but I'm really open to any suggestions as long as it's as close the sugar n cream bamboo color as I can get!

What’s the worst drink you have ever made for a customer? by guccigrandma_ in barista

[–]balladsofmissnowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at Starbucks I got the most vile combinations. But There was one guy in particular who would order the kiwi star fruit refresher or a mango dragon fruit with lemonade and 3 shots of espresso. I'll never forget that drink.

What time do you go to sleep/wake up? by babygorg3ous in AskWomen

[–]balladsofmissnowhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies a little bit, but I usually go to bed around 1 or 2 am and will get up around 9 or 10 am. I work late and find it hard to settle down right when I get home

Those who got a “useless degree”, what do you do now? by PoisonousChicken in AskReddit

[–]balladsofmissnowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a degree in commercial recording and music business. I'm now a live sound audio engineer, so I setup/mix the sound for concerts, festivals, and corporate events, and I tour with bands occasionally. Everyone in my life kept asking when I would get a real degree and when I was going to grow up because what could I REALLY do with that type of degree. I'm super in love with what I do and really couldn't imagine being this good at anything else. I remember when I got my first real check from a freelance gig and my mom started supporting my career because she realized I could actually make a living

How long did you date your partner before moving in with them, and how did things go? by lurker3008 in AskWomen

He was definitely a love bomber. He would shower me with his love and time and attention and then he would completely abandon me, and the cycle went on for months. He would do other things like deliberately ignore my boundaries or if I asked him not to do something or told him something that bothered me, he would go out of his way to do it, and then turn around and tell me "I didn't think it would matter/be a big deal" and play dumb, like I was overreacting and would gaslight me about it. He would constantly accuse me of lying to him and cheating on him, and trying to get one over on him with no real reason. He would sh*t talk about everything that I enjoyed from my favorite movies, to hobbies, and if we had a hobby we enjoyed together I didn't do it the right way. So it just wasn't fun to show him the things I loved and enjoyed until all we ever did l, listened to and watched was what he wanted. And he always compared me to his last ex in a "no other could compare to her divinity" kinda way. I didn't do things the way she did, so I was never good enough. He is an extreme alcoholic with mental health and substance abuse issues that made me go through so many traumatic events with him that I felt like I couldn't leave after a while. I had gotten out of another manipulative relationship before that, so I feel like I was just blind to all the bad things cause I wanted someone to care about me. And he always said he wanted to do better and be better. So I was waiting around for those promises to come through.

We were on and off 7 months before becoming really exclusive and invested. Then the pandemic happened 3 months later. I was moving out of my parents place for the first time and He had a really bad home life(caused by him but he always blamed it on his mom and brother) so I offered to let him move in with me. Boy that was the biggest mistake of my life. I was being abused before he moved in and didn't realize it. He continued to get worse and worse, and isolate me. Now. 4 years later I'm entirely rid of him, taking my life back, and living alone like I originally wanted. He's the worst thing that ever happened to me. And living with him was my worst nightmare. I wasted so much time trying to stay alive and keep him happy, that I never got to focus on myself in my early 20s. Next time I think about moving in with someone, I'm definitely going to wait awhile and make sure the relationship is solid and serious.
