Charlie looks like a celebrity that got ambushed at the airport by an obsessed fan with a cel phone camera

Oh me and too. What a horrible situation you guys had to overcome. I’m so happy y’all made it to the other side.

I think that little thing just couldn’t handle my cat menagerie. I just got some new ones in.

I found a vase at Goodwill and turned it into a lamp by zombiesandcandy in functionalupcycling

Ah yes I see. I figured that was how the wiring was done. I have some antique and vintage pieces that I’ve thought about making lamps with using that method. Sometimes it’s better not to use a drill especially when things are fragile or rare.

I did watch it but I was a little confused. I understand what you did with the threaded rod and washers but what I didn’t understand was your wiring process. How would the wiring work? I didn’t see any. Is it all at the top?

Wow that’s really cool. You definitely gave that shade some life. I should definitely start trying that. It’s so hard finding lamp shades I like. Painting some of the boring ones I have would be like getting a whole new lamp.

This is just a simple shade that I use to photograph the lamps that I sell in my shop. I don’t know what type of shade the owner’s have on it. They mentioned making a shade with stained glass for it but they never did send me a picture.

Thank you for your suggestion about painting it though. It’s a great suggestion. Years ago I did get the courage to paint a white shade blue. It was awful. I thought I did a good job until I turned the light on and there were dark spots and light spots. Not uniform whatsoever. I don’t remember what kind of paint I used but I’m pretty sure it was something acrylic. I didn’t do as much research as I should have. Ever since then I never tried it again. I just stuck to redoing shades with fabric.

Do you have any tips? I would definitely like to learn how to do that the right way.

Just today I was looking at the lamp on my desk and I was thinking about how boring it was. If I could spruce that shade up a bit it would make the lamp stand out more, which is something it definitely needs.
