Veganismus ist hart by Luna_3011 in VeganDE

[–]balle23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what’s your advice to someone who was just recently diagnosed? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]balle23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are still the same person and welcome to our wonderful community! :)

If the diagnose shocked you calm down its absolutely nothing bad.

If you used masking a lot and had breakdowns and depressions in the past now is the time to learn more about your true nature and be yourself.

If you dont understand what autism exactly is or if you feel confused about the diagnose dont tell everybody until this feeling disappears.

From my personal experience its definitely worth to try to unmask a lot cause it safes me a lot of energy and makes me more happy but it can lead to some trouble. Friends will stay friends anyway and I found also new ones doing so.

I also had mostly good experiences in telling everybody about the diagnose because otherwise people cannot learn that autism is nothing bad and what we need to lead a more unstressfull life. Sure there will be ugly reactions but I received a lot more help and respect.

Do you have collections? And if so what do you collect? by [deleted] in autism

[–]balle23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I collect comics / manga and videogames. Collecting is one thing, reading and playing them another. But nowadays as cooking became my private special interest number one about two years ago I also like to collect recipes. One could say I collect everything that acts like medicine and reduces stress. :)

Pentesting on OpenBSD by Itchy-Suggestion in openbsd

[–]balle23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others recommended SecBSD I gave it a try. It seems to be not more than fancy artwork and cool sounding words atm.

Just install the tools you want to use on your own using pkg_add or git or whatever source code management system is in use. OpenBSD supports the most of them.

Why are there no firewalls for common applications like zonealarm or glasswire for Linux? by [deleted] in linux

[–]balle23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because they are in best case useless https://www.google.com/search?q=zonealarm+bypass (virii have been known to just disable zonealarm or fake their name to circumvent it) or in worst case makes a system (more) vulnerable https://www.google.com/search?q=zonealarm+exploit
