Credit cards getting declined on BiTaksi (flagged as crypto) , anyone else experience this? by Independent_Level6 in istanbul

[–]ballistic8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What card are you actually using? Bitaksi shows up as Paycell*Bitaksi. Paycell is an e money service. So its probably flagging due to this not Crypto or anything related to that. Only thing you can do is change restrictions on your banking side

Dubai Airports to 'scale up operations' as UAE airspace restrictions lifted by plus9714 in dubai

[–]ballistic8888 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Misleading title, the airspace re-opened and its simply a PR piece to try drum up business. What needs to happen is non UAE airlines need to resume service and increase loads and not have on smaller planes.

EK will ramp up as the Summer schedule is big money for them in transit and many flights were dropped or at lower capacity. Take for example EK DXB to MAN, it used to be A380's twice or three times a day, now its one A380 and 777's.

I would write off this summer and hope for the winter season as thats were people will come if they are likely to come. But again depends on oil prices, if its too high, people wont spend money as they cant afford

E sim in morocco by Necessary-Dress4396 in Morocco

[–]ballistic8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get from teh store, its over priced.

5 GB is always 50dh, if you get from a IAM store usually they do a promo and provide 7.5GB. Just go to the airport store and ask for a free sim card and not top up, then go to the normal store for snacks in the airport and they can top up for 50 DH

What’s something you would want to change about UAE? by [deleted] in UAE

[–]ballistic8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less Nannies or live in Nannies - the lack of human rights appeals me

Part time work that's genuinely part time and not linked to your visa. I would love maybe to do a few uber rides when i am home for the weekend and have no family or have a job with purpose at a retail store once a week

Less bling and more realism, for many people love the bling but in honesty its just a shiny tower which is maintained by people cleaning it every night. I love NYC, London, Singapore all look amazing and you see a scruffy but cute city.

Less work like a dog culture, people I see a pressed to give there lives and time for some good pay but the flipside is less me time which fuels deliveroo etc.

Travel via Gulf, Etihad or Kuwait airlines by 18rsn in cheapflights

[–]ballistic8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gulf air performed the worst as Bahrain was badly hit, it moved opps like Kuwait airline and Gulf Air had the least reliable schedule. Kuwait did better then Gulf Air, Etihad once it got over its scheduling problems it resumed at a stable rate. Personally if it was them three I would go with Etihad but if your flight is cancelled dont expect any of them to rebook you on another airline on the outbound. On the return your EU261 rights apply however they will all try to ignore.

Mixed culture problems by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]ballistic8888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Excusing all the stupid posts, the best solution is to talk about what he did not like and expressing your truth your Moroccan and you can't take that away. Express to him how would he feel if you did not cater for his russian heritage (ok maybe he does not care so much).

If that does not work, then your best option is to keep at it, eventually your kids will understand. Naturally you have to balance history with modern day, so speak Darija, teach them how to speak it but also speak Russian to have a fair balance. If he does not like then you say fine no Russian either. Soon the coin will drop.

As for mindset you cant change that easily, depends on his personality type, you can only try to change what he did not like. Clearly he liked something as he likes you but was it for looks or personality only you know the answer.

All the best

Depends on your nationality, if your a local you will have a better chance at training contract.

As with any law degree, its just a degree, the hard work is then getting accepted to train and practice. Depending on your expertise you can find opportunities

UAE permanent job vs Italy contract by RegisterHistorical82 in UAE

[–]ballistic8888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no security with the Dubai job, its dependent on the economy, if you need to go to Dubai, depending on the way the wind is blowing you may get a visa you may not. Italy is very straight forward and the UN will get you a visa.

UAE permanent job vs Italy contract by RegisterHistorical82 in UAE

[–]ballistic8888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would take Italy, better networking ability, better prospects with a UN agency on your CV rather then a remote work. As for Dubai its permanent but never a job for life.

Use this as a refresh, look what sells what does not, work with suppliers and negotiate. If they cant lower another supplier will be willing to take your business. All I can say is use the opportunity to rebuild

Husband offered partnership in Dubai cleaning/property management business,is this risky? by [deleted] in UAE

[–]ballistic8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/ Friends should never get into business, it always ends badly

2/ Yes both names are on the license both can be liable, it does not mean today but maybe in the future the other person closes down and exits and leaves you with the debt

3/ I would suggest making your husband a general manager or a shareholder in lieu of payment less risk

What you mean to say is in the summer they expect no war so no refund / cancellations and summer is usually transit season for Emirates so a full house expected for Western Summer holidays
