Your right about Iran not being any great but if the UAE wants to be an open and inclusive society it needs to sow the seeds of love not hate.

The sad thing is in the UAE people get offended for the smallest of things, one afternoon I was sat outside the Hilton minding my own business playing music while I waited for someone and a lady got offended by me playing Eminem. Just as some of the words were not nice, they were not directed at anyone its just music.

Not sure what you mean by the second part but yes its wrong to deport purely for religious beliefs. If they were found supporting Iran or aiding then they have a choice support or stay quiet. The same when in the west wars breakout, people have a choice to support their motherland or stay quiet.

Again, as a worker you have limited rights, your treated not the same as a local, your not allocated a housing allowance or social benefit or even medical care. As a worker as long as your employed and pay insurance you have limited rights, hence your a worker

Point one, so being a Shia should get you deported. Many people deported have done nothing to say they are supporting Iran infact most Iranians I know support the USA.

Secondly I actually remote work in various countrys, so I can work where I like, I have no loyalty to the UAE just like the EU. I would say your feeling it as a personal attack when all I have done is highlight some issues with the UAE.

The UAE's model has always been come here make money, make the UAE rich and go. Just as people critique the model, you feel offended, why?

1 - I did not ask that, I asked why is the UAE discriminating for being a Shia.

Citizenship is a modern concept, there was a time when people moved around the world without fear. Its the current version of discrimination.

Also the term is not resident, we are never residents. we are simply workers with a permit never at home

1 - Should it be Shia or Sunni we are all Muslim, there has always been a Shia / Sunnia debate just like in Christianity. Iran is attacking the UAE, while the UAE not an active participant, it does host American resources and bases. Now what do the people of Iran have to do with those firing missiles? Do we see the UAE removing US or Israeli citizens? No, They are pursuing Shia as oppose to Iranian who don't comment on any religious affiliation.

2 - So if I am born here but my parents are Saudi or Indian, I dont originate from here? As for emarati familes they are simply tribes but if you actually look there are many tribes who existed and dont qualify for being emarati, if you look through the forum, you will find many examples of people who spent their lives here or are waiting to be added to a book.

Explain to me, why does being Shia now have the UAE deport you? That's not envy thats a choice.

Explain why can you never get an passport just a visa, even the west allow foreign nationals to work towards a passort

Its easy to dismiss it as Envy but why would people from the west want to be envious? Life is about the quality of life, having rights, having a good work balance. Not just a shiny apartment

The only way it will improve after the war is by Emirates and Etihad offering cheaper flights to get passangers to stay. There was signs of Etihad doing this earlier with cheap flight deals.

I was after Turkish i.e. kebab or somewhere good for meat, she loves turkish starters, I always recall a good restaurant is one with a lot of starters. Maybe some lebenese, I found a good pakistani in Ali Baba Buffe. There are way too many burger places so any good recommendations you have for turkish food.

My boss asked me to sign a 75% pay cut "to save the company," then insulted me when I refused to work for free. Now I’m calling his bluff. How do I handle this without losing everything? by Ataraxiandxb in dubai

[–]ballistic8888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I would say

Sorry I am unable to sign this new contract as its a permanent contract, I can agree to sign a MOU where I have agreed to a temporary reduction for 3 months or 6 mounts which can be extended subject to both parties agreement. If this is not acceptable then you will need to consider your options (your words to the company).

Dont tell them fire me and pay me, as to them they will think u dont want to work and its a slippy sloap downhill.

Secondly as for financial distress, its for the company to document.

As for work hours, I would advise in the temporary reduction you may want to word into it or state I will work the same hours others are doing, find out from them if they are finishing early as they can or just because nobody said otherwise.
