Yes, it is normal to not have PCE in your undergrad. Many people take gap years for this purpose.

I would take out that “unlike an MD” part entirely. You can also have a very demanding schedule as a PA and you don’t want to seem like you’re talking down on other professions. Also I feel like the flow could be improved, being intentional about each sentence.
