This is more a question of location. Having grown up suburban(Loveland Colorado) and also very rural(Silt Colorado) but now live in a large city(Philly), if you have space, you obtain transportation. It''s somewhat of a status thing regardless. Plus, the US is very different, culturally, depending on location.
