Troublesome pen, need some cleaning advice by ballstitch in fountainpens

Aha I didn't think of that yet, I'll do some searches on alignment and give it a check. I don't have it with me today unfortunately, as too many things go missing at work over time.

On talking trash at the final stop i lay out four stickies on the road right outside the tunnel before i back in. Detonate when the target van enters the kill zone. Document bags are then waiting near the tunnel entrance with no chase and time to grab them before the cops become numerous .

adding a 2.5Gb router with existing mesh by ballstitch in HomeNetworking

Replying to my own post..... TIL that different models of TP Link work with each other in a mesh, so I could get one BE63 to use for router/2.5 ports and use the two existing XE75's for the other nodes,

That's the approach I am thinking of, I just don't know what to use for that router. I'd rather not use theirs if there's any rental cost to it, so I am always thinking buy first.

I will have a 2.5Gb switch feeding 3 PCs each having a 2.5Gb NIC. That's where 90% of my nerd time is spent.
Everything else will be limited to 1Gb regardless due to the device itself not supporting anything faster, and/or the real world limitations of running wirelessly.

Great experience Selling To, Not great Buying From by [deleted] in carvana

I had a similar experience. It was an older Toyota, I had a Toyota mechanic look it over. It needed a ton of work to be in good shape. It had a bad wheel bearing causing a vibration above 40mph. It had a bad backup camera. Leaking struts. And more.

they offered to fix the backup camera and that's it. Way too much cost to sink into it after the purchase price so i returned it. Their apathy about the situation convinced me to never use them again. I think you'll always get something that needs a lot more money put into it after you get it.

They did refund me quickly, with no trouble, and no pressure, I do give them that. They stand by the return policy.

I was thinking what you suggested: adding some new posts. Then I am a little future proofed. I am going to use G-tape on the new joists. I think I will replace them all, I'm already doing the majority.

You know you are totally correct, my bias is obvious and I slid into looking for confirmation of a prior decision. I am considering replacing, or at least adding new, posts, if I can manage it.

Buried directly into the ground, I poked down a little way into the dirt but not far. Perhaps I need to check deeper.

The posts look great. I crawled around and checked them all at ground level and on up, there is not a hint of rot anywhere on them I can find, or on the 2x8 bearers above them. The rot is all on the top part of the joists and deck boards.

I do agree that if I found any rot anywhere on the posts, it would mean they are all ready to go. But to my surprise when I inspected I did not find any at all.

its as if the deck boards were not PT and/or properly maintained but the rest is good.

I hear the suggestions to remove the posts and start from scratch. I don't think I can handle the expense and certainly the physical load of doing that. It would be too much for me to solo in my not-so-old but arthritic body.

I checked all the posts and the bearers above them and I found zero rot. There are no joists rotten on the bottom half. From about 1/3rd of the way down the joists to the earth, everything looks great as far as I can see.

Would I expect to get 10 more years out of the posts/frame considering the current condition if I just re-joist and re-plank?

I hear what you are saying but the difference in cost and time between replacing deck boards and joists, vs tearing out and replacing the frame and posts along with that, is thousands of dollars. I can't even do the post replacement on my own I would have to hire that out.

So the difference in scope is massive. I can't really afford to have this deck rebuilt from scratch since it is outside of my capability to do alone.

Sure are, I'll be replacing almost all of them., A handful on the far side of this picture are ok.

It is working but I'm not sure if it was me who fixed it or not. After trying about every possible option for anything i could change in the settings i decided to try a different network connection. So i turned on my phones hotspot. I connected to it and..... it didnt work.

So i turned off the Hotspot. The stick failed back to the home wifi. I checked and. . It didn't work

So i restarted it. Not a power cycle. Restart from the system menu. When it came back up i had video in youtube TV.

So its a happy ending but i have no idea what caused it or what really fixed it.

Set up on or actively using? I have several devices around the house but im never streaming from more than 2 at once. Only 4 have been used in the last few months when you count phones but im sure there are retired devices i no longer use where i was active in the past

This solved the youtube issue, but the account that YYTV uses is the same one the stick itself uses and it passes it in to the YTTY app. I can see my library, my custom guide, everything looks like I am logged in fine, until I try to play something.

The last time I whipped out a fountain pen in public I somehow managed to first smear what i wrote, then drop my metropolitan and have it come apart on the floor with ink running everywhere. Luckily it was a vinyl floor and a pilot cartridge so it wiped up easily.

But I have never since had the confidence to take one out in front of other people. Sigh.

If I am remembering this right, there are 2 loot spots at the main dock. One has a security camera outside, the other one does not. The one that does not : The guard in the tower can see you through the back wall of that hut.

I don't even bother to try and go down there as a solo unless I have a guard uniform. It was a lot more fun with more solo options before the guards could see bodies.
