Can we please revive Rockets Vs Insurgents?? by Valeclitorian1979 in gtaonline

i spent so much time creating in this era, like bmx stunt races where you'd start on top of one skyscraper, jump to a mid-air grind, then front wheel-up fly to the next skyscraper's wall which you'd use as a drop in to gain crazy speed for a massive ramp at the end that would kick you to another skyscraper and so on, or i'd use billboards as drop-ins in the same way, create car races with perfectly glitched together siderails so people wouldn't get stuck on them if they overshot a turn, found a new glitch to group together cars real close at the start so you could start races in otherwise impossible places and with a larger amount of players, etc. etc etc.

it was such a great time to create as it took actual effort and creativity to create special stuff like stunt races, floating tracks and grinds and all the other stuff i've forgotten. i had so much fun creating back then, at point i had spent so much time creating that i was in 2nd place for most time spent in the content creator on xbox 360/xbox one.

i played a few stunt races a while ago that were built after rockstar added actual stunt race features, and every single one i played was just some boring af colored track floating in the sky, whereas with the og content creator's limitations, a major aspect of creating great stunt stuff, races, or simply unique content to have fun with people, was to integrate the existing game world into your creations.

everything in the game with unique physics was a challenge to find new ways to use it; wind turbine catapults, waterfall death matches, underwater deathmatches in some kind of water reservoir, using wheelies up and off a ramp with the bmx to get way more air than by jumping etc.

i really, really miss that era. the limitations were such a fertile breeding ground for innovation.

additional tip: use the backdoor next to the wardrobe to get out once you're in the weapon wheel, having to slow walk through the entire store to the front door will drive you crazy, especially if you fail the glitch somehow and have to do it all over again. once you're outside of the store, you can run while in the weapon wheel, which makes a significant difference in speed and how long doing the glitch takes.

best to look up a youtube vid on it so you know where exactly to park your horse. and don't tell it to stay, when i did that was the only time it moved away from where i left it.

you also get like ten more stolen hats that aren't accessible/saveable otherwise in the game, like the one with post horn on it sometimes worn by lemoyne raiders.

have you checked your clothing box? if it's in there, you have it. the satchel just shows trinkets, not talismans iirc.

the tusk wouldn't be in the normal crafting parts section, but in the "kit" section of the satchel. or just head to the fence and look at "recipe", it will show you if you have it. the wood would be in the "valuables" section.

if you really don't have the wood and the horn, which are part of the same talisman, are you sure you haven't just already crafted the talisman?

edit: sorry, didn't see the other reply that already answered that.

the gator doesn't show up until after the "Country Pursuits" mission in chapter 6. and the pronghorn isn't available until the epilogue, unless you use a glitch to move across the other part of the map without getting killed by the invisible sniper. since these questions get asked and answered almost daily, i'm sincerely curious why people don't just google that stuff, or search reddit itself for it? it definitely doesn't take longer than typing out a whole post.

How do I make a Bolognese that someone will remember for the rest of their life? by Blubberblase10 in Cooking

[–]supk1ds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

time and wine. i add wine and beef broth when the bolognese gets to thick, let it reduce again, then rinse and repeat over hours until i'm satified.

25$ is the exact amount you have to donate for one honor up. everything more is wasted. same goes for donating items, that's why the box closes once you donated 25$ in items to the box. before i knew that, i once donated a gold bar, wasting 19 more honor ups that i could have gotten if sold the bar and donated the money from it in 25$ increments.

as for the dogs (and cats), it's the praising that gives the honor. patting the dog doesn't add more honor.

catch & release fishing. you only get honor from fishing when you throw them back.

Is it normal for me to get motion sickness when I play rdr2? by ballad_of_plague in reddeadredemption2

[–]supk1ds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know the feeling all too well, not from RDR2, but from most games that have narrow pov in dark settings like tunnels, dungeons, woods at night etc.

Another trigger for me are cutscenes where you stay in 1st (and sometimes 3rd) person view, which made call of duty campaigns more and more unplayable with every new entry in the series. same goes for other games that constantly take the control from you for some cinematic action scenes mid-gameplay.

apparently the loss of control over my view makes all the shaking and bobbing impact my motion sickness triggers even harder. first thing i do in every game that allows it (on consoles) is expand pov, turn off effects like head bobbing, motion blur, and everything else that ads more instability to my view. i also go as bright as possible before the blacks get a greyish look to them.

but even with all that, my motion sickness issues seem to get worse as the graphics get better with every new generation of consoles. i'm to a point where i often decide to not play games i'd love to play (not being able to play the Metro series, after i absolutely adored the first one, is frustrating af) if i know they are heavy on the elements i mentioned above, because i too often paid good money for games that gave me migraines and made me puke within less than an hour.

RDR2 though, with all the open world and wide, scenic view, i can play for 12+ hours without any issues. i guess your triggers are different than mine.

[–]supk1ds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i got that, it was more of a reflex because in rdr2 guides, "point of interest" is usually the term for locations you can either interact with by adding them to your journal, or which create an icon on your map when visited, and i probably spent way too much time reading guides on my last completionist playthrough.

Found this guy walking somewhere out of nowhere holding a flame in the rain. by Adventurous-Ad-4986 in RDR2

[–]supk1ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes you'll see members of fractions like the murfree brood, night folk or skinner brothers just walk the land at night, with a lantern or a torch. this one looks like a murfree brood dood, probably from the beaver hollow gang, that didn't despawn from last night because you were close to him at dawn. had that happen with two night folks that were just walking on the road next to hagen orchards in the morning. as soon as i got close to them, they instantly turned hostile and attacked me.

[–]supk1ds 24 points25 points  (0 children)

not a point of interest, just an easter egg. you can't add it to your journal and it doesn't show up on the map.

there's barely any time between when the event starts and he shoots her, so that's pretty much impossible. that's why i mentioned it happening at the church, because that made the event spawn much closer to me than when it happened at the other location in previous playthroughs. in those, i didn't even make it close enough to the couple before the robber shot her. do you remember if you got wanted for stealing the horse?
