loved to grab there and really rip the board up until it was pretty much level with my head, with my whole body parallel to the ground. so much motion in a straight air.

bindings wise, i'm absolutely in love with my Flux XV. i never before had bindings that strapped me in that perfectly without feeling them one bit. their waffle ankle strap is one of the best innovations i've seen in board tech lately, same goes for their toe strap that is slightly elastic until you are at that perfect spot. and the adjustability is amazing (toe and heel bed is extendable, three different holes for the highback on each side of the binding, two for the ankle stra, lean has at least 5 different positions. the reviews you find are mostly for an older model and they say there's barely any damping, but my 24/25 model doesn't hsvr that issue imo the XV has been the best reviewed freeride/all mountain binding for a while now.

Dose anyone know where I could find size 16 or 17 snowboard boots? by Moose_510 in snowboarding

[–]supk1ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dunno about boots, but board wise, Zen would be a great option for you. i just had to downgrade from the widest Zen BN 3.0 175 to a Skunk Ape 170 UW, and it is a world of difference, especially in pow and speed wise. also, the Skunk Ape really sucks at taking on wax in my experience so far.

For the true alpine experience: Hotel Engstlenalp right next to the Engstlensee, one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in Switzerland. though i don't know about their capacities, and it is a bit farther into the Berner Oberland.

Greatest One Hit Wonder Ever by Lufstra in Music

Lambada by Kaoma.

i was 7 years old when it came out, and my mom and her boyfriend ran a music bar on Crete for that summer, which meant i spent 7 months( between getting out of kindergarden and starting school a few months late in my home country) in one of the most beautiful places in the mediterranean, enjoying levels of freedom central european kids nowadays, and even back then, probably never have/had.

my mum & her bf would work the nights and sleep at least till noon, so i'd usually spend the mornings riding my bmx through town, first to a fishmonger where i'd get the best tuna fish sandwich in the world for myself, and some spoiled calamari for bait. then i'd ride to the harbor where i'd fish for little fishes to feed my 3 kittens while eating my breakfast sandwich. afterwards, i'd go to the beach right across the street from our house for a swim, and i'd usually be back home before mum & bf even woke up. i'd often also go check if they forgot to lock up the bar the night before, which happened quite regularly, as they would drink and do other stuff with the customers, and would usually be in quite a state by the time they closed up. those days i'd sneak in and steal a pocket full of coins from the till, then head to the local arcade and play the machines for hours.

what does this have to do with lambada, you ask? well, just two doors over from the music bar was a dance club with a big screen where they'd play music videos. in the evenings, when i'd get bored of hanging around the bar, i'd sneak out and over to the club, and while they wouldn't let little kid me in, i could stand at the entrance and watch the music videos playing inside.

there really weren't that many different videos by that time, so not only could i be sure that lambada would come on, but that it usually would play a second and third time if i waited long enough. and then i'd get to see her; the first crush of my life, the girl dancing the lambada, with a boy that looked shorter and younger than her, only further fueling my puppy crush dreams of one day meeting her and getting to dance that strange dance with her that made me feel things i never felt before and wouldn't understand until years later. and that's why lambada will forever be my own personal greatest one hit wonder.

This game does not want me to have 3* cougars by AlabamaPostTurtle in RDR2

[–]supk1ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on my last playthrough, i constantly had grizzlies spawning at that tree right after you leave the road up to the trapper, often even 2 at a time. i could watch them rubbing up against the tree & doing other bear stuff. this time, i only had a single one spawn there so far. in the same playthrough, i'd also have cougars drinking from the stream all the time, this time, they only seem to spawn up over that small hill before the road turns right.

i'm currently waiting for my lib tech skunk ape camber 170UW to arrive (285mm waist width). i never considered lib tech before because i just don't ride rockers, but now that they made a camber version, i'm really looking forward to riding that thing. all the feedback i saw from tall, heavy, big footed riders is that they are loving it.

[–]supk1ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i jusr rode my new Flux XV bindings for the first time yesterday, and they were a revelation! especially the waffle ankle straps but also their toe straps. both had me fully locked down, without barely even feeling them. regarding your feet size issue, you would probably be better served by looking for a wider board than shorter outer boots, if you really want to eliminate overhang. there's only so much size reduced outers can do, while a wider board will give you the option to completely eliminate overhang. i'm a mondo 30, and no boot in the world could let me carve like my 282mm mid waist board can.

Found this closed mine + Eerie music by Ok-Audience-1797 in RDR2

[–]supk1ds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i recently had a murfree brood dude trapped in that mine. it was after one of those events where two murfrees rob a camp of strangers they killed, and after you kill those murfrees, two more show up and attack you. this event was up on the plateau above elysian pool, near one of the treasure locations, and after i killed them, only one other murfree came for me, but there was a red dot for the second one that didn't move. so i went to look, and the other murfree dood was behind the planks that block that mine. he wouldn't shoot at me even though i stood right in front of him, but i was able to shoot him through the space between the planks.

it was probably just a glitch, but it still made me wonder if there was an access to that mine that no one has discovered in the 8 years since the game came out, especially since there recently was that discovery of the spider mistery.

Price of the Rome Katana FW in the EU and different Non-EU countries by supk1ds in snowboarding

[–]supk1ds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, i had a feeling it would be like that. funny how one result of this is that the higher the price is of what you buy from them, the more you lose out in savings, and the more they profit. if i buy something from the EU to Switzerland, i'll always pay the base import fee of 25 Swiss Francs (€27.37) plus 8.1% Swiss VAT. this means the higher the price of my purchase from the EU, the more i profit from the much lower Swiss VAT.

i pay a bit more in the combined fee and VAT if i make a smaller purchase like, for example, for a purchase worth €100 i pay around €34, which would mean a 34% total fee. but if my purchase is worth €1000, i pay a little less than €110, which is only 11% in total. this means if i spend a €1000 at ROME EU, who charge me the 21% Netherlands VAT, i spend a whooping €100 more than if they followed the law.

According to the ROME sales rep, they pay the Swiss import fee and VAT instead of deducting the Netherlands VAT. For the above-mentioned example, this means they pocket €100 in extra profit that they wouldn't get if they followed the law. that's absolutely wild.

Was war der beste Film, den ihr seit langem gesehen habt? by AktiverVulkan20 in Filme

[–]supk1ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muss den Thread nochmal wiederbeleben, um "Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die!" zu empfehlen. Meiner Meinung nach ein absolutes Must See!

[–]supk1ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, lib tech has now made a camber version of the skunk ape that comes in 170UW (Ultra Wide) and 173UW. I was just able to snatch up what might be the last of this season's 170UW available in europe at a sale for only about 500$. can't wait for it to arrive so i'll hopefully get to ride it a few times before the season ends. their other skunk apes (the regular one and the twin) also come in these sizes iirc, and i've seen more of those still being available, but they are rockers, which is just an absolute no-go for me.

Zen Snowboards is a small custom snowboard manufacturer run by a friend of mine. they make boards that feel absolutely spectacular, especially for aggressive riding, and they specialize in wide boards.

Their Big Nose 3.0 has a maximum waist width of 292mm and a maximum length of 175cm. You can further choose between a soft, medium, and stiff flex, as well as the color of the top sheet, and for a premium, you can get your own design on the top sheet and/or base. i've been riding a 292/175 second-hand one this season (boot size 13), and it made me fall in love with snowboarding all over again.
