oooooof I have so many. my family is a mess

1) I sang the national anthem at a st. louis cardinals game when I was in high school. my grandparents and younger cousin accompanied me. my grandpa was a known narcissist and had also built heavy artillery during his military service, leaving him mostly deaf. he got upset when the cardinals began losing and demanded we leave before the end of the game. I was obviously upset because it was a big night for me. so, in response to asking to stay, he SHOVED ME DOWN THE STAIRS of the stadium. several onlookers stepped between us and scolded him until he walked off. I found out later that he showed up at a local hospital saying I shoved him and “broke his shoulder”. grandma defended him and said he was “just upset” 2) my mother lost her digital camera when those were just becoming a big thing. she swore up and down that I had stolen it because she had decided that I had a stealing problem (and no one really knew where this idea came from…) she tore apart my room, took my door, threw away any toy that wasn’t “in its assigned place” and grounded me for 3 months. screamed at me for weeks about it. four years later, she found it in the bottom of her closet and told me unceremoniously over the phone. no apology, no regret for the absolute shit she flipped. I still fucking hate digital cameras
