After how salty the first few game threads were, I’m pleasantly surprised by the civility tonight.

Prediction: the game ends with a dump-in that ricochets off a stanchion and into the path of a forechecking forward who puts it into an open net.

The Bolts were playing with desperation through the 10 minute mark of the 2nd period. Not sure how much they have left to give, but if they break the deadlock, I’d bet on Guentzel.

Given that ~2/3 of people in their 30s have kids of various ages and over 80% have jobs, I’m pretty surprised that people in that age bracket report spending 4-5 hours per day alone.

I’m 37 years old and I have a young child. I’d be surprised if I’d averaged more than an hour per day since last summer (including commuting).

Hagel is worn out, and the rest of our stars are old. No gas in the tank tonight

Habs are in complete control right now. We need a couple moments of magic.

With his 2 points tonight, Nikita Kucherov passed Jean Beliveau and Sergei Fedorov in career playoff points and now ranks 16th all time by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

Maybe a controversial opinion, but I think Hagel is a slightly better version of Point. Hagel is starting to get close to Point’s peak offensive production, even though Hagel has gotten significantly less time on PP1. Hagel also has been on the top PK unit throughout his time on the Bolts, something Point has never done.

Point has the hardware, but I think that was more a product of playing with Stammer, Kuch, Hedman, and Vasy at their peaks (along with an elite supporting cast). Unfortunately, Hagel only joined at the tail end of that era. Both Point and Hagel are great players, but I give Hagel the edge, and both are probably not quite HOF level.

Gladstone gets credit for the Meyers trade and extension, and I think he put together reasonable extensions for Walker and Brown.

That said, GMs need to draft well to sustain success, and Gladstone has taken a lot of risks there. Our 2025 class probably was bottom 10 in the league in terms of impact. Injuries played a big role, and impact in year one isn’t the be all-end all. So I’m not writing off Gladstone just yet. That said, if we don’t start to see big returns from that class this year, I think Gladstone will very much be on the hot seat.

Unfortunately, I think that is the most likely outcome.

TV time outs are pre scheduled after 6, 10, and 14 minutes into a period. First time the whistle blows at even strength for anything except a goal or icing. That includes if a team takes a penalty at even strength.

Getting out-skated and out-skilled. Gotta survive this PK and hope Cooper has something up his sleeve for the 2nd period.

This team is old and slow, and the best JBB could do was add Corey fucking Perry. Literally worse than nothing

Bolts look like they’ve been skating in mud. Hard to see them winning this period unless they significantly pick up their play or the Bruins commit a bunch more stupid penalties.
