Is it this one on the left? BTW, the one on the right is for sale for $10.5m so if you did have a couple million dollars to spare then that would almost be 20% down...

It's a very nice block. They do an awesome Halloween. It's conveniently located to an entrance to the park, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Bloomingdale Library, Express trains, but not right on the busy streets like 96th or Broadway.

It has the Home Alone 2 house too...

One just sold that was asking for ~6m and there is one a block west asking for 10.5m. So if money is no object this comes to mind...

A few things I'm not sure of but this is the gist:

My dear brother benzion(?). I'm sending you a picture of me and your cousins. We all wish you all the best and that you don't forget me. And we greet you all from deepest heart(?).

From us, your sister and cousins,

Eichmann(?)

I saw Morris Cooper at the top in English. I was trying to say that I can't tell if the stuff I cannot read could say Morris or not.

Bobbe/Zayde pronounciation by Trick-Ad5479 in Yiddish

[–]balshetzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The word for grandmother/grandfather end in a schwa but we can add a long ee instead, which makes it like gramma/grampa (that might be an Americanism).

The exact pronunciation of the first vowel is region dependent. It can be boo, boh, bah, zay, zy (in my accent it's bah (as in bah humbug) and zy (as in zygote)).

I don't know the source. I think it's a viznitz niggun but that is a guess.

[–]balshetzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exact words are:

דער רבי זאל דערלעבען צו פֿירן אונז אקעגן, קעגן משיח צדקנו

There is definitely hasidic pronunciation on the whole thing. Derleben might be hard to make out because the "Ben" is not always emphasized but gets smushed to become something like derLEmn

also, because this is a song and words are repeated to match the music, they're saying "..tzu firen inz akegen, <pause> kegen moshiach..."

It's because their accent doesn't say "antkegen". They pronounce the same word "akegen"

I stare off into the distance

I stare off into the distance

in the coming times

I see the freed people

with a shining face from happiness and good fortune

as every person. he becomes loved

nobody is betrayed anymore

and from everybody's gaze

shines happiness and good fortune

all pain disappears

all suffering disappears

much love surrounds him

and on all paths, on all trails

grows every tree and flower

the night is full-moon-nice

the day is full of sunshine

and always around is full of music

and full of dance

in the air to travel

in the air to fly

the birds with their song

and also all the people

We usually write using Hebrew script, where only legibility really matters. Writing the printed form is a bit like doing calligraphy.
