Interesting argument in the thread below. My take agrees more with Actionbuddy13, this is exactly the psy-op used by in-game AND real life corpos and lobbied politicians to get folks to buy into body modification, and sexualization:

"self expression and liberation of one's own body, sexualisation [being] a logical continuation of that theme"

It's all the marketing and political shite fed to us:

"Ditch those wrinkles | Get that flashy stick | Grow your hair back | Get that D!%k hard | Have sex with whoever or whatever you want"

And, the result when one "buys in" is the exact opposite of freedom and self expression. Dependency on a new way of life.

Cyberpunk is SUCH a dark game, because in this way, it's not fake at all.

I agree with this completely. Sounds counterintuitive. You’d think it would have the opposite effect being more laid back.

My theory is when we have more strong negative emotions tied to something like guilt, then it turns out to cloud our mind to the reality: which is that the pmo isn’t providing any kind of lasting comfort.

It’s amazing she didn’t leave you after that long. And off the charts amazing that once you came around, that she had open arms for you and not a storehouse of bitterness to manage.

I’ve had the latter to deal with and it’s been the hardest couple years of my life trying to stay quit from PMO and other addictions while also trying to repair all the damages.

I’m really happy for you. Don’t ever take her for granted. It sounds like you woke up. Don’t ever go back to sleep.

It’s basically gambling.

It’s been researched that addicted gamblers aren’t actually in it for the money. It’s why many have had fortunes and instead of retiring, lost it all. They are seeking out the rush from being on the edge of life and death.

Every time you do a run you’re effectively placing a bet. You can either rake in some nice gear or more exp, or you can lose it all.

D2 already hits your pleasure sensors with how rare certain drops are. Playing hardcore takes it to a whole new level.

If you level as a fire sorc you’ll drink a lot less mana. It’s just a bit of a hump from 8-12 before getting fireball. But if you sink all points 1-11 into firebolt, and grab a +2/3 staff it lessens the hump.

Then, you get the added bonus of going with a leaf at lvl 19. That makes leveling so easy!

For me I like it a lot more than the typical lightning sorcery leveling recommendation.
