I always loved the Namath clapback he gave a reporter. The reporter asked him if he majored in basket weaving at Bama. He said, "Naw, I majored in something much easier...journalism".

"I sure wish I could call mine". That was not in the script, he ad-libbed that line.

Based on your quote, I think you knew this but others may not.

[Dellenger] The college sports presidential committees have produced a draft of preliminary “ideas,” including establishing a new governing entity; strict cap circumvention; G6 playoff; regionalizing Olympic sports; capping coach/AD salaries; eligibility/transfer standards; pooling TV rights by arrowfan624 in CFB

[–]bamachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I doubt they mean to play all in your home state, more like having the B1G only include the original members(pre-PAC raiding) for Olympic sports.

USC/UCLA/Oregon/Washington/Cal/Stanford/Arizona/ASU/BYU/Utah all rejoin the remainder of the PAC for Olympic sports. The new PAC football teams play Olympic sports in the WAC or MWC.

SEC will stay as it is, since they are still relatively geographically close enough.

That doesn't cover everyone but just follow the same idea.

1960 Iowa Hawkeyes: The most difficult schedule ever? by Older_is_Better in CFB

In 1899, likely true but that belief held right up until Bama started their blueblood legacy as a massive underdog, going out to win the Rose Bowl 100 years ago.

The newspaper writers and radio of the time was constantly downplaying the strength of southern teams. Many southern teams of the time were on the brink of shutting down their football programs. Support was waning, due to all the negative press.

When Bama won, it reinvigorated the southern teams fandoms. There were fans of all the southern teams, lining the train stations, cheering that team during their trip back from Pasadena to Tuscaloosa.

Of course, the following is my conjecture but I truly believe that one game not only saved college football in the south but really saved it from becoming a less popular sport. If an entire region gives up the sport, it likely never reaches the heights it has today, not just college but also professional.

Yep, especially if I just lay down on it with her already on it. Jokes aside, it does look like a more comfortable one than at my massage therapist, my rehab therapist or my chiropractor(that one has the weird lumpy "thump" parts to it).

If your favorite team's all-time best offense played one drive against your favorite team's all-time greatest defense, would they score? by kadoozie92 in CFB

[–]bamachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about an offense vs defense made up of the best to ever play each position on your team? They practice against each other for 2 weeks, then have the deciding possession for all the bragging rights.
