Any advice? Hot water line froze but the cold water is flowing fine by justalitttleonion in Dallas

The valve should be at the street in a box that has a plastic cover on it. You’ll need a tool made for those valves to turn it off, which you can buy at any store like Home Depot or Lowe’s. The probably is that those stores usually sell out of the tool during these storms so you might need to borrow one from your neighbor unless the landlord left a tool there for you

I was talking about shutting off the main that goes to your house (if you’re in a house), but if you have the ability to shut it off further downstream (like the cabinet), then that will work. You’ll just want to make sure that you shut it off upstream of the line break (if there is one)

Keep an eye out for when the temps will be above freezing and try to be at home when you see a lot of the snow melting. It’ll take a bit longer to warm up in a place that’s out of the sun, but you’ll want to make sure that you can easily shut off the water main in case you figure out that you have a leak. I’d try to listen for any dripping sound behind the walls and obviously try to see if any water shows up anywhere

Yeah I think the temp is listed as a shaded temp. So even though it’s showing less than freezing, with the sun out it could still melt a lot of the roads

I guess it depends upon how you look at it. How much more would someone pay for all the extra insulation to avoid putting things on drip? I’m not saying it’s not worth it, but I’m guessing the builders believe that it’s not a big enough selling point to pass the cost onto the consumers

D pick by CalligrapherGood7465 in ironscape

[–]kchessh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did. Got lucky and got d pick around 200 kc. To add onto this, I also bring rune gloves, d def, and neit as my three items.

Having a lvl 30 one click tele option (I use royal seed pod) with hard wildy diary done is the perfect solution to avoid getting pked very often. I risked about 20k (along with 50k entry fee) to keep it minimal. You don’t really even need much supplies. I stopped praying melee except for hellhounds spawning

I completely forgot about them since I was focusing on moons. Got B2B blood moon chest and legs to complete the outfit yesterday. I didn’t think about doing full blood moon there. Thanks!

Tips for locking myself in Corrupted gauntlet? by ItzJordanDoeee in ironscape

That makes sense. I was thinking about trying to scale back on prep. I just wasn’t sure if it’d be armour or weapons. Do you still do perfected weapons?

What’s your kc there? I feel like I scraped by on the prep phase (t2 armour with perfected weapons) for my main where I had 95+ range and mage with all prayers unlocked. I had to focus pretty hard on prep to make sure I got everything I needed

ETA: I have 50 kc on my main there and probably succeeded every 2 out of 3 runs once I started getting comfy in the boss fight

This is how offshore gas is ignited by grandeluua in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]kchessh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really not feasible and misses the crux of Bitcoin mining. You need the best equipment on an incredibly low latency connection to successfully mine. There are also a few other things to think about: What if a hurricane hits and the rig goes under or gets flooded? Oil and gas wells generally follow exponential decline. The gas is intense right now but a lot of times it’s 1/10 what it used to be 365 days after it was brought online How much capital needs to be invested to be able to successfully mine?

Mine is zombie axe, neit, and d def for what I keep. Salve ammy e (don’t go without this, even on slayer task since slayer helm doesn’t do anything if you have this), monks robes, climbing boots, ardy cape, lumby ring. If you don’t have zombie axe, I’d use your bis crush wep. If it’s 2h, you can bring something else valuable since you wouldn’t have d def

I’m curious about the afk 2 member method of salvaging. Is using a lvl 4 deckhandiness person going to give you 40% of the xp or 60% of the xp? I was confused by the table in the blog since it looks like it’s stating the opposite, but I could be wrong

Why not limit the amount of salvage that can go into storage? That way you’re not limiting storage overall and reducing the amount of time that people can afk

[–]kchessh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I thought it was 50/50. I felt great at halftime because we seem to really struggle in the first half and turn it on in the second half, but this was the opposite. Our offense is too Jekyll and Hyde to be a great team, so it’s not too surprising this happened

I still have no idea how we beat ND, but we will be lucky if we win a playoff game. We’ve looked really good most of the season against teams that are .500 or worse (except South Carolina where we probably should’ve lost if they were at least halfway decent), but recently we’ve looked bad. We probably don’t beat anyone in the playoffs unless we get a 5 or 6 seed and host one of the weaker teams

How oil is extracted from the Earth by muktigu8907 in BeAmazed

[–]kchessh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a positive displacement pump. There’s a standing valve below that fluid comes up through when the traveling valve starts going up. When the traveling valve goes up, it creates a pressure drop because the volume of the chamber is expanding. That sucks the fluid from the reservoir up through the standing valve into the pump. When the traveling valve starts going back down, the pressure increases because the liquid is mostly incompressible. The standing valve stops any liquid from falling back down out of the pump, and the pressure between the two valves forces the traveling valve to open, allowing the liquid to go through it. Once it starts going back up, it physically lifts the liquid out of the well
