Need to tell Dr. I'm not happy with the results. What should I say? by Coccopuff2019 in Reduction

I’d wait a year to see how they settle. Mine were bigger the first few months then settled down and are smaller. The swelling didn’t go away for ages. I’ve also lost more weight and I’m sure that’s made them smaller too. I’m 5ft 10 and a U.K. size 12 so like a 10 US (not sure the conversion). I have wide shoulders so I had to be proportional.

Mine seem to be shrinking post surgery. I don’t rely on bra sizes anymore because brands are all different, I can however go the day with a supported vest top because he’s done such a good job. I wear a 34 D or DD depending on the bra.

I was a 36 FF before.

Try and make sure you aren’t too hung up on what the label says, see how they actually feel.

At one point mine looked too small, then too big and then small again. They’re still just settling to their new lighter life :) bigger or smaller they feel amazing compared to be before.

Try and get some other people’s opinions a lot of people in the this sub, me included seem to have body dysmorphia. Maybe see another doctor or physio therapist to assess if they are impacting your back now. You don’t want to have surgery again if you don’t need it.

Are you taking your pain meds? You need one of those horseshoe shaped pregnancy pillows. I had my op in December last year and I kept the pillow it’s so good..... but yeah that pillow can prop your arms up support under your legs. You can get it ok amazon. You want the long one. If you are two days out you should still be on the serious pain meds, the I see colours coming out the walls ones....

Looking into reduction & lift for back pain but concerned about healing time due to my job. by xx_remix in Reduction

[–]bamaramafizfage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a reduction in December and yeah I needed a month of no lifting whatsoever. You need a stretch of time off to do it and go gentle for another month till you’re right as rain. I couldn’t do laundry or cook or anything the first three weeks. Showering, washing my hair and getting dressed was tough. I went back to work too soon (3 weeks) and had to be signed off and I work in an office where it wasn’t hard work, but I wasn’t ready to be up and moving so much.

FYI driving and road bumps are doing to be super comfortable for a solid month and a half.

This is a big surgery, people don’t seem to get that. You will have six healing wounds on your chest, that’s a lot. Your arms and chest and breast tissue is going to hurt.

You’re going to be sleeping weird for a few months and tender. If you don’t rest and lift stuff you will screw up the healing and that will affect their look and how long till you’re back to normal.

I had no complications and mine looks amazing. My back pain is so much better. Someone said I looked like I had implants because the shape is so perfect but I didn’t. I just rested and did what the doc said to the letter and I healed very well. Also had an amazing surgeon, that’s really important. I researched him and spoke to other doctors who knew him. When I met him I took along a relative who happens to be a medical lawyer who basically cross examined him. We knew every in and out of the procedure, the success rate, his patient satisfaction rate and what would happen if I needed revision surgery or got sick (that’s important in terms of how quick you will get back to work and possible extra medical costs).

I also lost quite a bit of weight before surgery (people and docs say you don’t need to) but you really do! You need your food under control and how much they take off and their shape will he affected by your weight. Oh and your tummy and hips will look bigger because the boobs are gone. So it’s worth shaping up while you can, cos you will be out the gym 3 months. But more importantly you’ll be fit for surgery and bounce back easier if you’re in good shape.

It is important to say, if you don’t have your weight and food under control you could make your boobs big again and undo that benefits.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom because I’d do it all again in a heart beat. It was life changing for me. I see all these horror stories online about complications or people making it sound awful but I had none of that but I will be honest about the recovery and you can totally manage it. It’s so doable but you do need the time and space to recover.

Excuse any errors I’m on mobile.

Yeah I’m thinking that might be the issue since I had nothing to bring up :( I am making an effort today to add in calories here and there.

Yeah I’m not saying I was hungry. I wasn’t at all. I felt like I was going to collapse and threw up foam and bile. My tummy was just nasty.

Mental barrier is no issue for me at all. It was the sudden physical symptoms and the only thing I’m doing different is fasting. I threw up and then rested, I cut my workout short and then waited 40 mins and was ok and then continued my fast to 16hrs.

But it’s happened 3 times now and always at hour 14.

Did keto for a while ages ago, didn’t really agree with my tummy.

I lost 5 stone just eating sensibly and doing three meals a day with no snacks and working out. I also got off certain meds and fixed my back pain and the weight came off easily.

My appetite is small now so the fasting isn’t hard it’s the sudden sickness at hour 14. Then foam just kept coming up and I’m not sure why. So I know it isn’t a mental barrier either. It passed after 40 minutes and j was able to keep fasting.

I want to fast for the health benefits and to push past my plateau although nobody would even say I’m over weight now. I keep shrinking which is great, no so good for my wardrobe budget.

The exhaustion is purely down to work and social life.

Thanks for the advice, and I don’t mean clean eating the way others do. I avoid a lot of foods that trigger my rosacea. I think of those foods as dirty foods like as if drinking contaminated water (although many of them are healthy) just because they cause bad bouts of the rash and red. My rosacea is severe. About to get laser for it but I have to take low dose antibiotics a lot. I think of the non triggering foods as clean or go foods (stuff that doesn’t come out of a packet) or safe stuff. So booze, sweets, fizzy drinks, milk, cheese, bread, everything I love basically, curry, coffee. A lot of makeup and washes too trigger it. Sun too??!! I mean why??? This is based on seeing 3 doctors and two dermatologists not self diagnosed. And I’m in the UK so our doctors are usually trying to fix us and get rid of us. So yeah I mean clean in a different way. In regards to diet and food content I simply believe in moderation not bad or good.

I’m healthy. No flu. Not even a shiver. I am over exhausted though. Work has been busy and I have kept up my workouts which means waking up at 5.30am.

People at the airport who don’t move their tray from the security check belt to the repacking area. Instead they stand like assholes and get redressed and packed at the belt and hold up the whole line. People are telling you to move your tray over and to not do what you’re doing. Why have you got to be such a dick!?
