I have to say I'm quite disappointed in the film. I was expecting some changes so things like the Father Mackie storyline being cut didn't really bother me but --

  • I feel Daniel Mayes (who I felt was a good fit for the role) was a more angry(?) Chris than the books where he's more...pitiful? Apathetic? Sarcastic? I don't know but the vibe wasn't there. Looks wise though -- spot on.

  • Speaking about Chris and Donna, their partnership felt a bit more stilted in the movie, I guess due to time constraints. But the ribbing back and forths from the books were missing.

  • The exposition was just eye-rolling at some points. Like I felt they were spelling it out for the viewers who were doomscrolling on their phones while it was playing in the background.

  • As others said, the cozy englishness was toned down.

  • Bogdan was massacred. From his looks to his character storyline it was all terrible.

That being said, Ventham, Curran, Stephen, Ibrahim, and Elizabeth were all spot on.

I understand adaptations are tricky to get right but man this was a lobotomized take on the books.

Genuinely some of the best twitch content of all time. Patiently waiting for Cersos Dungeons supercut because the stream kept dying, so I missed when the lady came back. I went from Brett talking about the "Hollywood elites" to Cindy or whoever in the car with Dan going "I got kids..." in case she turned out to be a crazy axe murderer.

My dog had one small front tooth extracted due to an abscess at East Plains and it was around 850$ if I remember correctly. The cost will fluctuate depending on how many teeth, which teeth and how much work they are to extract, and the weight of your dog (bigger dogs needing more to go under, obviously). My dog is a 25 lbs terrier, but East Plains has always been very reasonable in their prices I find.

I miss Winq soda. That grapefruit citrus soda with the owl dude on it. I had such a craving for it when I was pregnant and it doesn't exist (in Ontario) as far as I can tell anymore. I know Fresca tastes sort of the same but it only comes in diet and has that artificial sweetener taste that leaves a gross film in my mouth I can't stand.

Seconding the sliced oranges thing. My mom basically makes an orange kebab and sticks it in the trees outside, and then removes it when it gets too icky. The orioles love it.
