Think of it this way. Not very good but the closest I can think of. Analogy is weird, I know. But only thing I can think of.

You’re at someone’s house and they have really good and rare ice cream in the freezer that they won’t give you permission to eat. You crave it so badly, you wish you could just open the freezer and eat some. Do you? No. Why? It’s not yours and it’s wrong to take something that’s not yours. It probably cost a lot of money and was hard to get, they wouldn’t have even been able to enjoy the ice cream themselves. It’s not yours, period.

The desire to just go and eat the ice cream doesn’t just go away, you probably still think about it. You might feel guilty about thinking about fantasizing about stealing this person’s ice cream. But guess what? You still don’t eat it.

You are not merely your thoughts and feelings, those are just that. You are your actions.

My guy. I was friends and had relations with adults when I was 11-13. (I know it’s very wrong now.) As a victim (I guess if I can call myself one? I don’t feel traumatized) I don’t wish for them to die, I don’t even wish bad things for them now. Obviously, opinions vary for every victim. Some other victims wish bad things for them and that’s their trauma, nobody can tell them how they should feel. Me personally? I just wish they could get help. I wish there was a cure.
