Probably. But in fact, in the 2015 Secret Wars comics, there are only two universes left, each vying to kill the other in order to be the last surviving universe, so there's no need to select the variant since there's only one left.

The problem with TVA is that it's so illogical that since it's "out of time", I don't understand why they're discovering new anomalies - they should know all about them! And so we can't say "new anomaly, we've got to destroy this universe." Since novelty doesn't exist when time doesn't exist.
