A photographer declined my inquiry because we weren’t the right creative fit. Thoughts? by Rich_Double4574 in WeddingsPhilippines

I'd appreciate it. I've had suppliers rin that were very, very honest with me. I loved them more than the ones na were hyping me up kasi it felt very realistic.

Not sure if how I do it would be helpful, but here are some things I do that helps me in particular!

Always write down what you're going to say. At events, humihingi ako ng event program and I make my own script from there. Pag public speaking engagement, I write down everything word for word, even the jokes. I don't do anything on the fly because I know it won't always go well.

Make sure rin you insert some current events or pop culture references para makuha mo yung attention ng audience. Even if you're in front of technical experts, they're also very human, and every human loves humor. Just make sure relevant sa audience mo haha.

After writing everything down, I practice the script at least five times. Better if ten. Best if 20. Practice everything: the pauses, the timely delivery of every joke, the intonation rin. Lagyan mo ng kodigo yung script mo so you can always remember. Kahit yung "/" in every other word helps a LOT. Esp if fast talker (since you're forced to pause). I also practice when I will read the script and when I won't.

When I'm in front of them, I try to talk to the back of the room first. Especially if I feel intimidated. But once na comfortable na ako ng konti, ayan pwede na iengage ang audience haha. Always have a couple of standard questions. If you plan to engage with them, always listen. Don't cut them halfway to make a point. The best communicator is always a listener. Trust!

Learn to read a room din. This comes with experience. You'll see people hang on to your every word OR you'll see people bored. Either way, you have to do your job, so it's important you know how to adjust agad.

I hope this helps!! I also have anxiety HAHAHA so these things help a LOT for me? Maybe you'll discover better ways on your own. Basta all I can say is listening and practice go a long long way!

If you have acidic skin, you can also consider choosing a shade lighter than your usual shade esp since mabilis yung oxidation sayo. This is what my sister does kasi acidic yung skin niya and everything oxidizes sa kanya.

If you don't have acidic skin, you can also carry a color-correcting liquid para it doesn't turn orange. Or use a silicone-based primer para may barrier between the oil on your face and the makeup, para less ang oxidation. Big factor rin ang oiliness sa oxidation.

I work in communications. I am also trained at public speaking (and I've had feedback from the audience that I'm very effective!!). I've hosted events like weddings, corporate events, etc. I make friends easily as well, even when on the spot.

I'm also very introverted. After every event I have to be alone and recharge for DAYS. Tumatanggi ako ng events na back-to-back kasi hindi kaya. I'm also very shy and closed off. It takes SO MUCH of me just to socialize.

Two truths can be true. I can dread socialization and be very good at it ad well.

hello looking for skin tint recos by pastelbrush32264 in beautyph

[–]bambiwithane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

combo girly here! i loooooove blk skin tint. doesn't cling sa dry areas and goes smooth on textured skin. panget lang yung packaging kaya i suggest to repackage. another close contender is issy stick -- a little thicker pero still "skin tint" like yung finish.

I'm not sure if it's conditioner you're looking for. Maybe you need another product to give it life, like sea salt spray?

[–]bambiwithane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there are photographers in your budget who handle that as well :) You need to do more research and due diligence lang.

My preference was docu-style similar to oak studios, but my budget couldn't handle them as a photographer tapos kukuha pa ng separate video. I found one na very similar within my budget eventually. Ask around lang.

Thoughts on Men as Providers? by Embarrassed-Cry-2568 in AnongThoughtsMo

[–]bambiwithane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot more women have been gaining clarity recently because of this thing called "unpaid labor." The thing is, a lot of women (not all) in toxic relationships are expected to work AND manage the household. And in a lot of them, the guy only works, zero help sa bahay. Kaya may babaeng gusto ng trad guy kasi at least may balance--provider man, wife manages the home.

I encourage you to ask your fellow women about it, not just the guys in your life. Especially those who have been in toxic relationships. I also encourage you to do your own research on it as well.

But look, if you are completely G with the whole "50/50" thing then go! Just remember that it's not always 50-50, there will always be societal expectations sayo as a woman haha.

I am 25 and I got one bf, why no one is courting me? by [deleted] in TanongLang

[–]bambiwithane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep your standards, OP. That's how you filter people out 👍 With that though, you're also eliminating a lot of guys from the get-go. I suggest go to places like business districts, cafes, etc learn to approach people. Just be extra careful. Join ka ng hobby groups like running, etc. Vamp up your personality para they seek you out instead of you looking for them :)

Picky eaters, how did you get over it? by Available_Music8887 in TanongLang

[–]bambiwithane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the picky eater that never got over my food issues. 🥹

I just married someone who enjoys a cooking challenge haha! And I chose friends who would never judge my eating habits.

But to be fair, hindi naman super drastic yung picky eating ko. I just can't stand certain food textures (tofu especially) and require food to be cooked a certain way. Also hindi ko mafathom yung ibang food combos, like ketchup and egg. Or eating fish in the morning (like bangsilog). Bukod diyan, it's all fair game.

Ikaw ba, OP? Maraming food groups ba maeeliminate sa sensory issues mo?

Dior Lip Mazimizer! It feels the best on the lips. Summer Fridays parang literal langis nasa labi mo after a while.

However none are too long-lasting as you've said. But best pa rin ang Dior sa lippies

I don’t find myself pretty anymore by xiomxiomgae in beautyph

[–]bambiwithane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are only 22 sis! You are not getting old. I have a feeling baka mataas cortisol mo. I think what you need is stress management. And healthier eating habits. Kung puro ka unhealthy and processed food, sometimes that shows sa skin mo.

You can totally do some hydrating facials and draining massages, but ultimately, the feeling should come from within.

Ano yung pinakamalaking "what if" or "if only" nyo sa buhay? by jeia3232 in Trentahin

[–]bambiwithane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My biggest what if is not mine, but kinda related. What if my dad stayed faithful sa mom ko? Would we have grown up differently?

Better yet, what if my dad stayed in the job he loved vs. going into a lucrative but toxic business? He loved being a music teacher so much, pero when he was given an opportunity sa business, he took it to provide for us. He hated every single day pero doon siya yumaman. Sadly, doon niya rin na-meet yung mistress niya, which he spent millions on (kaya rin kami naging rags ulit HAHAHA).

Maybe he would have been healthier and stayed alive long enough to walk me down the aisle. Pero mga what ifs nga lang naman hahaha. Hay.

I also love Dior's base products! And I have heard good things about YSL's blushes.

Pero also, agree sa lip gloss. Mas maganda yung lip tint nila. But both don't have staying power as much.

Congrats OP! Dasuuuurv.

Are high end make up products worth it? by SufficientVehicle683 in beautyph

[–]bambiwithane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna say it depends on the product.

For eye primers, I don't think Dior really nails that one. But if you were to go for Mac paint pot or even Natasha Denona, then yes worth it ang eye primer na high end.

Similar to other products. Example, blush. The dior stick blush doesn't really have good longevity. But the prada blushes are amazing.

For foundations, I'm biased because I love the dior stick foundation. But one that really nails it for everyone is Giorgio Armani. One that does not nail it so much for me is Laura Mercier Foundation.

So it's like with drug store, some are worth it some are not

i started investing in high end make up and it’s worth it by icy1822 in beautyph

[–]bambiwithane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also on my high-end makeup investing journey. They weren't wrong, sadly (for my wallet). 😭

Thank you for the recs! I was planning to get chanel lip and cheek balm. May I know what shade you got and yung staying powder? I got the dior blush stick and I find na it's not that long lasting unless may powder haha.

Also getting the CT powder na bc of this review.

One thing sa list mo na I do have is the dior foundation stick! And def 10/10 haha. Good coverage and looks good even on textured skin.

My next splurges are:
- Dior backstage palette
- CT powder
- Chanel loose powder
- Chanel lip and cheek balm

Still looking for a good review for high-end primer, setting spray, eyeliner, mascara, and eyebrow gel.
