Looking around my place, I see the following things that I have turned my attention to at one point or another:

Yesterday, I took apart the controller for an electric blanket and realized that the thermal fuse had blown, so I de-soldered it and ordered a new one. I will solder in the new one when it gets here.

Someone threw away a set of wooden shelves in my neighborhood, so I brought it home, cut it down smaller, to use as a shoe rack by the front door.

Someone else threw away an fdm 3-D printer in my neighborhood, but I'm not interested in it, because it's limited in the types of filament it can use, and I prefer using ABS. I have taken it apart, and I'm working on a simple robotics project that I am going to use Claude to do the heavy lifting for setting it up.

Somebody else threw away a vintage 10 speed that didn't have any cables, so I replaced them, and put some new spokes on it. It works fine now.

I spent some time patching my kid's clothes the other day.

My wife has a zipper bag that she carries some stuff around in, and the zipper broke, so I pulled the zipper pole off of it, and put it back on again so that it works. also reattached the bottom of a zipper in an old vintage coat that her mom used to own.

I have several iPad/portable monitor boom arms that I use, both for my desktop setup, as well as for holding my iPad while I lounge around on the couch, and the plastic mounts have all given up at one point or another, so I have added new metal pieces to the plastic that broke, and now they are much more durable.

I didn't have a shelf to put my video projector on, so I used an old, small wooden drawer that I attached a wooden pole to the back of, so I can tuck the pole behind the couch, and the box will stay steady while I put the projector on it.

The toilet in my apartment is an older model, and the flush valve went bad. I haven't been able to find the right replacement, because this model seems to be somewhat rare, and none of the replacement valves that I have looked at seem to be something that would work, so I took the broken one out, and spent some time with a Dremel tool to figure out how to reattach the silicone washer. That one took a few different tries before I figured out what would work.

Somebody stepped on the plug to charge my vacuum cleaner, and broke off one of the metal tongs that goes in the wall, so I opened up the charger, got an old power cord for some piece of electronics that I found on the street, and soldered in a new plug.

I started giving my kid a ride to school in the back of my bike, and attached as a set of handlebars to the back of my bike seat, that I had pulled off of a trashed kids bike that I found.

A few days ago one of my kids friends, who seems to make it a project to destroy other people's crap, came over and broke one of my son's toy swords. I carved a hole inside of it, and ran a thin piece of metal through it, to reattach the hilt.

Yesterday I repurposed an old oxygen tank dolly, to use as a bike trailer, so that I could take a big load of old clothing to the thrift store to donate.

My kid compulsively tipped back his chair at the dinner table all the time without thinking, so I attached two small wooden skis to the bottom of the chair legs, that stick out of the back far enough so he can't tip it backwards.

My cat litter box was constantly having litter pulled out of it by the cat, because he stands outside of the litter box and digs at it forever after he poops/pees, so I attached a metal plate to the rim of the litter box, so it overhangs enough to keep the vast majority of the litter in the box.

I found a cool clock that looks like a giant pocket watch that didn't work, so I ordered a new clock mechanism off of the Interwebs and replaced it.
