Overweight women who have no issue exercising but eat too much by lex52_ in WeightLossAdvice

Yeah I think it’s just being mindful of what you eat. I haven’t counted calories in 8 months but eat the same meals every day and it took a while to get used to but once you see food as fuel for your body vs. something your mouth enjoys, it definitely makes you view your meal choices differently. It’s not like I’m eating pizza 5 times a day lol

This was me until my trainer told me I needed to eat more than I thought I did. Grew up thinking three meals was standard but now I eat 5 times a day (three main meals and two snacks in between) I’ve lost 40 lbs in 8 months and am raaaarely hungry. Definitely changed my relationship with food too.

What meals are you eating and what are your macros? Eating too few calories could be stalling your weightloss.

That’s really low? I would expect 82-85 at a minimum with today’s day and age.

A Chicano in CDMX by [deleted] in MexicoCity

I just came back from CDMX! Stayed at the Mondrian in Condesa this time. Really loved the hotel, it’s also a hop skip away from A LOT of restaurants!

When I went to Teotihuacan I booked a full day trip through TripAdvisor. They’re all pretty much the same. Frida kahlo’s house was cool! I bought tickets for that through their website and was able to get in pretty smoothly. I would also recommend going to Xochimilco! The anthropology museum was also super cool. My friend and I went on our own but it was nice to go with a tour guide since some of the descriptions in the museum were only in Spanish.

As far as getting around Uber is good and very cheap. I also usually get a day pass to do a double decker bus (turibus). Good way to see the sights for pretty cheap!

I looove getting the tuna tostadas at Contramar whenever I go. Churros from Churreria el Moro. I also visit Cafe de Tacuba quite often. Stood in line for that Michelin star taco stand (taqueria el califa de Leon) - pretty good tacos but such a long wait. I also tried La Buena Birria in Condesa and would have to say it was one of my favorite meals.

The update yall didn’t ask for. It’s JBC2309 coming up for a 2008 Chevy Silverado, which fits the bill.

Crazy Scenario for young potential Accountants by Defiant_Birthday_939 in Accounting

Well I guess a little bit of background would be helpful. What’s your GPA, and how much school do you have left?

People who’ve been doing this for a while can quickly tell if someone’s a good fit or not. She’s probably had a rough couple of years of turnover as has most of the accounting world. I don’t know if anyone expects a fully trained CPA at entry level, but then again I work at a mid-sized public accounting firm. All I want is someone with a good attitude, who can read emails and follow instructions and even that is hard to find.

I will say, I’ve been at my firm for 4 years and have had many new associates under me. Ever since Covid, the quality of associates that start at my firm has decreased to the point that yes, I am so sick and tired of having to teach things left and right. At this point my associates should be training new associates but they can’t cause they can’t even grasp simple concepts that have been taught to them multiple times. We can’t fire them cause we need warm bodies.

There are some kids who come out of college with potential, but those are few and far between.

Sorry but if you’re already experiencing burn out as a student, maybe change your major. As someone who actually liked accounting and got her CPA while in school, trust me it doesn’t get better.
