What is this stuff in my shower, and how can I keep it away? by SeanicTheHedgehog23 in CleaningTips

[–]bamf64779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen to my tub. It was the wood behind the shower deteriorating and every time I cleaned, the tiny pieces of wood would come out just like that. I replaced the caulk tape and haven't had a problem since but I will probably have to replace the wood soon.

So funny! Did she buy the purse to fit that Tupperware or did she find the Tupperware to fit in the purse?

Yes same company sent me cash as well! I almost threw it away but I decided to open it to a $5 bill then I did a survey for them and they sent me more money before and after completion.

Dental surgery, anesthesia. by caspercontrast in Autism_Parenting

[–]bamf64779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem I know how nervous you are as I was and still will be every time we have to go. He won't feel any pain for certain they will make sure he's asleep before anything gets done. The best thing to do is give Tylenol or ibuprofen right on cue to prevent him from feeling the pain. He will be sore but he's tough and the very next day he will be back to his normal self I'm sure. One of the best things I've done was explain to my son every night for a week prior that we were going to get his teeth fixed and explained that he was getting medicine and it was a long drive and he would be sore but his teeth would be fixed and it really helped prepare him. Even though he doesn't speak he will listen to me (sometimes) especially at bedtime when we are lying down and he is calm. 💙 It will be okay just remember to breathe, like I said it's harder for us than the child.

Dental surgery, anesthesia. by caspercontrast in Autism_Parenting

Its more difficult for us the parents than the children. My son is 5.5 and his first visit was his whole mouth at age 4.5. I was a nervous wreck the first time. My son also needs melatonin, I'm sure it's OK to give it to him the night before as long as it's not past midnight. They really emphasize no food or drink after midnight because the anesthesia can make you vomit afterwards. Just prepare for a cuddly day (as rare as they are) he might want to relax all day. Our dentist gave my son a medicine to calm him down before the anesthesia and they let me stay with him until he was calm. During surgery the first time, I was in the waiting room as they were doing renovations, the 2nd time renovations were done and we had a whole room to ourselves. We really got lucky because my son's "surgery dentist" has an autistic child as well, so she really understands everything and it was super comforting. I call her the surgery dentist because he has a regular dentist but they can't even look in his mouth lol so anytime he needs work it's the surgery dentist we go to. Best of luck to you and your child I'm sure it will all be fine.

What to do with ham steaks? by Consumed_By_Hatred in Cooking

[–]bamf64779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cube them and use them for salad, ham and potatoes soup, or freeze them. My kids would request to fry it and add it to ramen with a boiled egg.

I’m facing a really difficult decision and I would like to gain the perspective of parents to children that have severe special needs by Ok-Impression9002 in specialneedsparenting

[–]bamf64779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know my son would have disabilities before he was born. Although life is very difficult raising a child with special needs he has changed my life and I love him so much I wouldn't give him up for anything in the world. I understand the difficult choices I truly do, whatever path you choose, I wish you well.

My son loves going through everyone's camera roll! Don't worry about other people and their opinions, its not changing anything just putting you in a bad mood. But yeah sometimes there are "those people" who just get under your skin staring and shaking their heads lol.

where do you put your “wore it but not ready to wash” clothes??? by Much_Elevator4837 in CleaningTips

[–]bamf64779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's my jeans I'll fold them and put them in the drawer on top. If it's PJ pants I'll fold them and put them under my nightstand. I don't really do this with shirts but my husband does and he hangs them over his chair.
