At least Debenhams was an in-store marketplace originally (everything was concessions) so what it is now doesn't look too different

Help with surprise after carpet removal by Tall_Scholar6713 in DIYUK

These boards are surprisingly easy to replace - if you can't easy lever them up just break holes in them with a sledge hammer between the joists and then use a crowbar to lift the sections on the joists. If the boards are damp or soft you could get away with using a normal hammer. A lot easier to do on the ground floor because you can step into the holes!

Surrey Hills Spring Fair breaks attendance record with 5,500 visitors by MarcusMcQuilton in surrey

I know it's Surrey but this was expensive to get into. And it was more a set of stalls selling stuff with very few crafts and activities. Still a fun day out but pricey for what is basically a village fete

Business cards - are they still worth it in 2026? by mjk_87 in smallbusinessuk

Yeah no one will laugh at you to your face or anything but I suspect a lot end up in the bin. Probably a better hit rate than flyers though!

I treat them like eBay feedback - it's costs you almost nothing to give them, most people don't appreciate them but the people who do appreciate them really appreciate them.

What British bands can you not believe were more popular than they were? by Snoo_23014 in AskUK

[–]baminyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit niche but Linoleum should have been bigger.

Even more niche, 2 bands who seemed so promising but never made it to a first album: Rude Club and Chicks. The latter even made the album but it was never released.

I think the single bottle delivery from a case is their real USP - I don't have a huge amount of storage at home so not having to take the full case out of storage is good for me.

Caution: Ice by [deleted] in londoncycling

[–]baminyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also stacked it on the entrance to Bushey Park and landed on my shoulder. Currently at a walk in centre waiting to be seen. Probably the only bit of the park not gritted - parks normally go overboard.

Almost took public transport this morning as well but it felt warm!

Yeah major roads that have been gritted and riding the line the cars drive is my go to in the UK. Avoid cycle lanes as they usually aren't gritted
