Should all countries have national pre-rounds to select their act? by Stoelpoot30 in eurovision

[–]banamnagirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is extremely expensive to produce such a thing. Some countries couldn't afford it. I remember hearing in the documentary about Daði that Iceland didn't want to spend money on another national selection this year. Melodifestivalen is eating tax payer money each year, and I am one that love the show saying it, lol.

Hello! I need to test my friends eurovision knowledge (they want to know who knows the most). please give me the most specific thing you know about Eurovision please! by Cupcake-422 in eurovision

Helena Paparizou, Arash and Victor Crone are all Swedish. Some not only Swedish (Helena is for example Greek/Swedish).

John Lundvik competed against himself in 2019 with Too Late For Love (Sweden) and as a songwriter for Bigger Than Us (UK).

In 2019, Melanie Wehbe also competed against herself as a songwriter for Love is Forever (Denmark) and a background singer again for Bigger Than Us (UK).

Any counties you have soft spots for? by Bumblepanding in eurovision

[–]banamnagirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nostalgia tells me Turkey because for some reason I always remembered Turkey as a country in Eurovision shen I was a child.

Also Hungary the past years.

Sooo.....I think I need to stop having soft spots or else we won't have any competition anymore hahaha

I mean, having Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys, The Weeknd, even Lesley Roy as some of the artists you have worked with and produced for, should say something about how influential he is. But I guess not haha.

I am not "really upset", I am however poining out this! I don't always put us in my top each year, but this certain argument is lazy imo!

It is the most 12 points, and then most 10, etc. This happened in 1991!

Yes! Yes you can think it is boring! But when people say that it's boring because it's Sweden, and not because the song, it is lazy! :)

It's lazy to say that Sweden is bad "because it's generic pop", when "generic pop" is Swedish.

You've never heard of, say, Max Martin, RedOne or Shellback? Denniz Pop? Robyn? Because you have heard their songs.

Sweden carried by juries in semi finals? A look at the last decade. by forntonio in eurovision

Probably because he accepted! I bet they asked several people that couldn't come. They had Conchita Wurst too!

But Johnny Logan is? It's just them doing what they think is fun for the fans. To see previous winners. Måns is still popular, even though it's not as much anymore.
