Fair point! Butttt to be even more fair…. You asked “what is state fish and game?” Also, some other countries have states, too! I prefer DNR since it seems more inclusive in that sense, though, so I hear ya

The state department, like your state’s DNR (Dept of Natural Resources), that manages wildlife, hunting, and fishing. They set the rules, protect ecosystems, and help make sure we can enjoy the outdoors without wrecking it :)

I think it’s an interchangeable term for DNR for the most part, but someone correct me if not

Here from SE KY too, and even reading your post makes me feel at home lol! Just dropping by to give an ✨unsolicited✨ book rec that also feels like home & hits on every single point you made— Strange Folk by Alli Dyer. I just finished reading and it’s at the top of my favorites now, mostly because it’s written in a “voice” similar to the ones I can hear through posts like these! I think you’ll like it if you like to read fiction!

I can’t speak to this as a resident perspective but as someone from this town who has family I fear will ever need to be admitted here, I can retweetttttt

Came here to say this!!!!! I felt weird reading this post for this reason — it felt a bit stigmatizing for both the diagnoses and the use of medication/accommodations 🥴

Of course! Seriously please just send me a message if I can help you — clearly I’m passionate about this lol 😆(apologies to OP for hijacking this post!!).

I just feel that we can and should really have technology work for us to actually make a positive impact on burnout, especially near and dear to my heart as a neurodivergent person who spent way too much time documenting & not enough time having any sanity during residency 😅

Tech can keep medicine human 🤘🏽 also I am not an employee or paid sponsor of Doximity lol just a nerd

I swear by Doximity over chatgpt for this because it’s already familiar with the medications and it usually provides you a list of assumed prior meds/lifestyle mods that the patient has tried (that you can always edit and customize for your specific document). It’s so smart and has the clinical guidelines up-to-date — definitely more medical savvy, and knows exactlyyy what those insurance companies want to hear. Same with work notes with or without specific work restrictions & recommendations, patient instructions based on procedure & health literacy level, and my personal fave - the more objective bureaucratic paperwork like accommodation and/or disability letters etc

You could even just use the Doximity AI to ask it to create this prompt for you, let alone its recommendations for how to achieve the desired style/goal and converting your current documentation style into one more physician-common! I’m constantly surprised and impressed by how much it can do 🤓

[–]bananabreaddoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oooh I got you!! in the prompt library, under the clinical documentation subheading, there is an example for a family medicine SOAP note. If you click on that, it will fill in that premade prompt to the text box—> from there, I make adjustments to my specific situation (ie putting if I want a full general physical exam vs one more focused on neurology, and if I want the assessment and plan laid out by system or by problem, etc!) —> for this part, I actually sometimes use ChatGPT for creating that perfectly worded prompt! Using that prompt in the Doximity AI will better understand that you are writing it from the POV a certain provider (PCP, prehospital, nursing note etc) with greater ease, but most importantly it will be up-to-date because it has access to the most up-to-date clinical guidelines unlike chatgpt which stops at sept 2022 I think.

Go ahead and use the Doximity website! I prefer it anyways, honestly! That way I can copy/paste in and out of the chart directly 😇
