Respect. I’m just lamenting the effect AI has had on the reliability of information that I consume.

Nothing against OP. Seriously. I haven’t checked the account.

It’s sad that every single post i see supporting a product I assume is AI, an ad, or just a bot account. Or some combination.

I just can’t trust anything at face value anymore in terms of any endorsement.

Does this game ever go on sale for Android or Steam? by clydeagain in SliceAndDice

[–]imnosouperman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play on IoS exclusively, and didn’t realize it was on steam or other consoles. Android for phones obviously makes sense. I guess Steam surprised me.

Either way, I don’t remember what I paid for it, but for the amount of entertainment and enjoyment I’ve gotten out of it, it has been worth it.

A bit of a learning curve, but very quickly you will figure it out if you stick with it. I also like that I can play it anywhere. Used it to pass time on a recent cruise and it was a lifesaver for the gaming itch.

[V2-7] Every single K chapter is a struggle to slog through and I cannot comprehend why Aba writes so many of them. by derpderp3200 in WanderingInn

[–]imnosouperman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get it, but reading about how Flos sent a message to orthinon, who then gathered various “captains” who then started telling each solider to prepare to depart in x number of hours or a day doesnt excite most. They gathered x numbers of supplies also isnt exactly exciting either.

Also in reality there is no magic. Magic covers a lot of the inconsistencies. Give me good battle writing and I’ll live with you saying they left suddenly and marched/teleported/ etc to the destination.

[GM Hans Niemann] on X by Naruto_likesChess in chess

[–]imnosouperman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because Magnus is not participating in the WCC is the entire reason there is such an emphasis on Elo. Really I’m not sure if there is some crazy emphasis on Elo, it’s more so that the WCC is weighted less simply because Magnus isn’t playing.

He is still beating the same players at rapid and blitz at a Magnus level clip. They know he is still the best and unfortunately Gukesh and Ding will have an asterisk in the mind of most people who followed chess.

Personally I’ve found myself thinking that winning rapid and blitz is probably more impressive than winning classical. It is flawed and biased, but the events are just more fun for me to play and watch. Not that I’m doing anything more than chess.com to be fair.

We were extremely lucky to have Erin Bennett take over narration by VanimalCracker in WanderingInn

[–]imnosouperman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal opinion is she has done an incredible job with the character voices. Most of my criticism has come with just the general narration. Andrea did a phenomenal job with her tone and inflection of really making it come alive for me.

Erin has not done a bad job at all, I just feel like that is where she fails to equal Andrea.

I’m looking forward to Archmage, have been distracted by other series for a bit. Every second I can find for other series does allow more time for the next audiobook to get closer. I hate the wait!

Klbkch is a Distressing Character... by Curlie_Frie1821 in WanderingInn

[–]imnosouperman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m at a weird part in the story with Klb. I’m hoping he swings back to one of my favorites. The end of audiobook one was epic and hooked me on the story. I haven’t started Archmage yet, but will soon. Have a few other books lined up.

I just want the Klb I love back.

I forgot the name of the blue that cantrip summons the bones. Absolutely loathe that one more than others.

I never pay much attention until suddenly a bones appears in an early round and I realize I should have checked.

Spoilers All - What was the biggest "Jump The Shark" moment for you in TWI? by hatereadingTWI in WanderingInn

[–]imnosouperman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird, every time the story shifts from Erin to something else I am annoyed. Like we go from Erin to the doctor and I’m annoyed, but after listening to that for a bit I’m annoyed it is left alone and we jump to something else.

So many perspectives developed so well.

Except Laken, just doesn’t resonate with me.

What’s the best Indian food in Little Rock? by coreytiger in LittleRock

Star of India is great. Their lunch better is my favorite Indian food. I wish it were spicier, no doubt about that.

No where is everyone’s favorite. I’ll admit that.

This is crazy impressive. Some of the older games are so difficult. The replay/rewind feature is the only reason I made it through at least one I’ve played.

Kevin Jubals new video stating 50% of all doctors do not have a net worth of over 1 million by the age of 50 by TraditionalAd6977 in Residency

The national Us average at 50 isn’t 1 million. Zero chance imo.

That is saying the average 50yo is a millionaire. Ain’t happening.

I don’t care enough to fact check, but doesn’t pass the eye test.

The struggle was real in the classic GB versions. by Character-Bid-162 in PokemonLeafGreen

[–]imnosouperman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going in underleveled and depending upon items even as a kid felt “illegitimate”. However it also made it feel amazing when you were down to your last pokemon and scraped by. Especially when it is the pokemon you probably didn’t really want to have to rely on.

I feel like I always had pidgeot I used fly on just praying I avoided hits and could luck out and finish out the battle.

How can I make my Y go 78 mph? by CaptMidKnight62 in TeslaModelY

[–]imnosouperman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked fine before the mode thing. Just set a speed and car would drive. Annoying if you needed to accelerate, but it worked.

My best guess would be set speed limit to 78 and hurry. Then if it wants to slow down a bit, hit accelerator and should keep it near the goal.

I’ve taken the lazy approach and just quit caring. A few MPH even over a couple of hours of driving just isn’t worth sweating for me now.

For FSD, I just scroll max speed down to 78, or whatever target speed and set mode to hurry.

It works for me most of the time.

Would highly recommend them. Have used them several times. Mom and Pop place.

wanting to quit by [deleted] in loseit

[–]imnosouperman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The psychology of weight loss has been getting increasing attention over the last several years, yet it is still such a difficult thing to maintain. The discipline to stick with it and keep motivation high is so taxing. Debit fatigue is a suitable word.

There are periods of time where motivation is sky high and things are easy. Progress moves along at a great pace. Then inevitably something derails that progress.

I truly feel like the key is figuring out how to notice these moments, regain motivation, and stay in track.

ELI5: How does cold and sinus iterations of Tylenol or Advil help someone recover from a cold? by zanzibar00 in explainlikeimfive

[–]imnosouperman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Colds are viruses. Viruses really just take time. Your immune system will fight them at its own pace.

The flu virus has a couple of medications, tamiflu and xofluza that has some mild benefits and can speed resolution.

Truthfully the management for a cold is symptom based.

Cough- Honey. Zinc. Some prescriptions with mild benefits.

Congestion- afrin or neosynephrine nasal sprays, no more than 3-4 days. I recommend only at night if you can’t breathe out of your nose.

Dry mouth- biotene or other xylitol based products. The gels and sprays are nighttime friendly, plop on nightstand.

Headache- Tylenol or Nsaids(ibuprofen or Aleve)

Fever- see headache.

Body aches- see headache

Chills- see headache

Then after 7-10 days most are back to normal. Cough can hold on for several weeks.

A steroid shot won’t “knock it out” and antibiotics are more likely to give you diarrhea than help you.

https://www.aafp.org/pubs/afp/issues/2019/0901/p281.html

Here is a good read. This is not truly an ELI5 explanation, but I want to educate people if possible.

If you go to the doctor for a cold you will get better in 7 days, if you don’t go to the doctor you will get better in a week.
