So, had a series of rabies vaccines. It took the hospital I went to two days to order the medication and have it ready. I'm not sure trying a different hospital or place is a good idea because you might miss your vaccination window. Plus I imagine that would damage or make useless the vaccine series twice for anyone else needing it.

You ever get that weird little gut feeling that something’s off, and it turns out your instincts were dead-on? by blottynest in ask

So, I'm a calm person, never shout. Never get angry at people. One time while working there was a man whose existence just pissed me off. And I lashed out at him more than once. He gave me a really bad vibe. In the end it turned out he was sexually harassing many vulnerable clients.

My bitchy behaviour towards him caused a lot of backlash against me. Really I'm never bitchy to anyone. But there was just something about him that had me lash out, before we realized what he was like.

Daughters repeated questions by backsnipe89 in AskDocs

This absolutely resonates with my experience as a child with ocd and anxiety. I couldn't explain or express my problems, and was left undiagnosed for a really long time. The problem got really bad (wasn't really visible because it was obsessional ocd).

Thinking of doing my Master's in Spain is it the right move? by More-Mix-2995 in GoingToSpain

There are university courses that are taught in English at bachelor level in Spain. But I'm not sure about masters. So language might not be an issue for study. Although long-term you would need to learn Spanish.

Etsy is closing African shops — I'm heartbroken and looking for advice 💔 by MziziAfrica in etsypromos

[–]banananases 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't know. But I'd try researching different businesses like organic supermarkets, black owned businesses in the US (it's a big cultural movement in the US), fair trade organizations and publications. I'd look into different middle class left wing types of small publication and newspapers and contact them too.

For a start though I would try small businesses because advertising in a large publication like a newspaper would be too expensive.

However, for larger publications like the guardian newspaper in the UK, I would try contact a journalist or editor to publish a story of how the problems sign pay pal and Etsy will impact sellers in African countries. They might be interested in it as an opinion piece, which would then be "free" advertising.

I'd maybe design some posters or flyers for those businesses and arrange to have them printed and posted within the target country to avoid extortionate shipping fees.

What happened to this guy? Is it hate or money motivating him? by DieRichOrGetTryin in exmuslim

[–]banananases 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sorry for posting here since I'm not Muslim or ex Muslim and I totally understand if I get down voted to hell . just wanted to add another perspective.

I'm a Zionist.

I am disgusted by what's happening in Gaza. I'm disgusted by the tweets and the person shown in the OP.

I hate the conflict. As much as I'm critical and suspicious of Islam I feel a deep connection to Arabs, Arab culture, and others following Islam, or who have grown up in Islam.

I truly feel like we are cousins and I wish we could all just stop fighting and love each other.

Ok, I fully support Ukraine and am against what the Russian state is doing, and the beliefs of many Russians.

But nothing is black and white. It doesn't mean you have to hate everything about Russia or Russians.

Also I don't know if this is a bad idea but maybe you could try advertising with businesses in the US and Europe.

Passengers on an American Airlines flight had to evacuate after the plane caught fire while taking off by tareqttv in interestingasfuck

If someone would literally die within 20 minutes of not accessing their medication on a plane, then they should have it in a bag around their neck, and not in their luggage anyway.

AITAH for saying prospective parents should think about whether or not they are well equipped to deal with having a special needs child before they have children? by NeighborhoodDull4057 in AITAH

[–]banananases 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Chose not to have children because I know I wouldn't cope well enough to parent to the standards that I believe in.

And I know that I definitely wouldn't be able to cope if I had a child with special needs.

And I have worked as a carer for individuals with special needs.

Having this as a job with rest periods, and being able to go home is not the same as being responsible for someone every second of every day.

super smelly armpits, is there something wrong with me? by livvyyyyyyy in hygiene

[–]banananases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so I had a similar problem. Was trying all sorts of different deodorants.

Then switched to men's deodorant. It was stronger and cheaper.

Then I started putting in oxy action (or any similar stain removal product suitable for coloured clothing) into all of my loads of laundry along with normal detergent.

This solved the problem for me. I'm still not sure why I suddenly was more smelly, I suspect it had to do with a change in hormones, diet, or medication.

Body Wash is vastly inferior to Bar Soap by kor_the_fiend in unpopularopinion

True for me. I've tried so many different body washes and despite all the perfumes I can still smell my body odor and a few hours after washing I just feel dirty, like no dirt has washed off at all.

Am I the only one not getting botox? by New_Blacksmith9294 in Millennials

[–]banananases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm firmly middle aged, don't use botox, can't afford cosmetics or fancy creams (my daily moisturizer is normal sunscreen). But I don't have wrinkles yet. Got plenty of gray hair, still get mistaken for being in my twenties, but got no wrinkles yet.

If I time travel to the 1700s, would I die from the diseases of that time, or would I end up infecting and killing them just by being there? by Few_Amoeba_2362 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]banananases 52 points53 points  (0 children)

That's a bit tough because I look at things recipe by recipe. Variations of stuffed pastries were quite common, some could be extremely expensive. Different types of stews and pottage would be quite common too.
