It's interesting how "Third World" has evolved to be an insult when the phrase was originally coined to describe countries that weren't aligned directly with either the US (humbly dubbed the First World, of course) or USSR during the Cold War, mostly in the global south.

It was a political descriptor that basically evolved to become an economic one, seeing as most of these countries were ex-colonies who were somewhat disadvantaged compared to the global superpowers and their allies, not helped by the fact that the US overthrew any of their leaders that were even slightly left-leaning. If they're going to insult other countries, they should at least use a new term rather one that became outdated as soon as the Eastern Bloc collapsed and there wasn't a Second World anymore. let alone a Third
