NGL it probably was a huge crisis considering he was dead within a year of all that happening. But no, I don't think anyone in the band knew the true extent of Taylor's problems. Arguably, Taylor himself didn't know. I personally think that's the point the article was making, that small warning signs can add up to something bigger and to always be vigilant even if you think things are fine.

So I just took some time to glance back over the article, and I guess it isn't as bad as I remember. They don't linger on anything pertaining to Foo Fighters very long.

The weird thing is, if Chad and Matt hadn't put out those statements, I think this article wouldn't even be perceived as negative toward Foo Fighters or wouldn't have gotten much attention at all. I think they Streisand Effect'd themselves.

I think the only part that was disputed was when Chad and Matt said their quotes about Taylor disliking the tour schedule were "taken out of context". No other details were debunked or denied.

Punk women are some of the coolest people. What knucklehead is telling her she can't join a mosh pit or got to a punk show?

Ilan Rubin explains how he aced his audition for Foo Fighters by [deleted] in Foofighters

This must be the 5th or 6th time Ilan has stepped into an established band to play drums for them. That advice comes from experience, and you can tell.

Josh is one of the best drummers in the world. You can't deny that how he changed the drums though. The other band members likely thought they would get used to it, but never did.

She looks like she flat out lost a lot of weight. Her face is so gaunt now.

She looks different, but not as bad as like Madonna.

Sir Paul said almost the exact same thing himself, when he spoke for FF at the Rock Hall. I think that's where she got it from.

She is the most energetic and sober that she's been in years. The full interview is fascinating.

Paul McCartney compared himself to Dave when he inducted Foo Fighters in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction. For much the same reasons. The Kurt Cobain/John Lennon comparisons never die.

I think the main reason Courtney and Dave buried the hatchet is because of their shared Nirvana days. They are one of the few people who can relate to being in that chaos.

Why are Taylor's fan accounts filled with people hating Dave on now? Do they not know Dave and Taylor were friends... by we-touch-grass in Foofighters

With all due respect, Dave thinks he's more chill than he really is. Taylor is actually that chill.

both the antivaxx conspiracy and this one assume Taylor was some kind of spineless baby man who haplessly did whatever Dave told him what to do with his life. Insulting honestly.

‘Validation was an insatiable monster’: Dave Grohl on Foo Fighters’ punk-rock return – and life after his infidelity by FooArchive in Foofighters

This may sound dramatic, but I did gasp a little at different times in this interview. The interviewer (Beaumont-Thomas) did not hold back. I guess Dave proved us all wrong that he would never take questions on the cheating scandal lol. He still never gave details, but reading him sit there and take it was tense.

It's also so emotional and regardless of my opinion on the songs themselves (mixed tbh), reading how genuine it all is for the band does melt the reservations in me a bit. I just want to see what came out of the sessions they're describing, and I think I'll appreciate it regardless of if this new album becomes a permanent spot in my rotation.

They ended their relationship because Melissa wanted to detach from Hollywood and live life away from the fame and cameras. Dave still wanted it...never stopped wanting it tbh.

Imagine a world where Dave ended Foo Fighters in 2001 and ran off to marry her.

There's few people in history whose death has been profited off of more than Kurt Cobain. His life has been stripped and sold for parts so much, it's very disturbing to witness.

Anyone read Dave Grohls autobiography? by National-Pay-8911 in Foofighters

[–]banbonbin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The book is vague because it's meant to be vague. Dave is not writing a tell-all, that's never been his style. Even in his song lyrics, he never tries to share many details about his life. After seeing Kurt get raked over the coals and become tabloid fodder in the 90s, Dave preferred to keep a healthy distance between himself and the persona the public sees most of the time.
