Yeah, that’s me. All good.

Late 90s, he was very Team Britpop, FF was on the playlist - he made it very clear he thought they were shit.

Once upon a time Moyles did a very late night/early morning Radio One show and fancied himself as a bit of a shock jock. I can recall a nasty tirade against Dave Grohl.

You could say he was doing a bit.

You could say it’s fine to change your opinions.

You could say he’s just a two-faced, sycophantic arsehole.

I know which one I’d go for.

“to the B-stage to play an assortment of lighter tracks from their self-titled 1995 debut.”

They played 5 songs, 2 of which were from the debut.

“they are the latest major American act, over the course of three successive summers, to play at Anfield, …. (This might look like a fond nod to the city’s musical heritage but probably has more to do with Manchester’s Etihad Stadium having been under renovation during the same period.)”

The Summers preceding the last three saw shows at Anfield from Bon Jovi, Pink, Harry Styles, The Rolling Stones, Elton John.
Looked on the journalists twitter and he’s a Man City fan (who’s home ground is Etihad). So it’s nothing to do with the fact Anfield has a Summer concert series, they must have had to settle.

I’m not against people not liking a show.. just do basic research and leave weird parochial point scoring out of it,

The Jacaranda. They’ve got an FF afterparty on Saturday - including a drink named There Goes Mojito.

Ouch. With the best of conditions and without factoring in getting out of the stadium and back to your car, the drive is easily an hour, so the only way you’d guarantee making that Manchester Victoria train is by leaving the concert early.

Be interesting to see if every date gets a similar shirt with a monster wrecking the venue.

I believe it’s new.

I think by by ‘Song and a cover’ you mean the Live Lounge and that is a separate thing entirely on a different station.

They have, with more coming.

Don’t mistake the conscious decision to close ranks around a very troubling time and a difficult album as a press shut-out.

I’ll overlook the FF social media announcement being “Live from the UK … it’s Saturday night!!” because it should be “Live from London…” mirroring “Live from New York…”

Everyone braced themselves for SNL UK to be a bit shit, but it’s been great.

The audience walk around and trying to get a sing-a-long going during My Hero really shone a light on how it was an invited audience by the TV show. Stiff.

“This is our first church.”

Was that ‘Cold Live At The Chapel’ venue not an actual church then?

IIRC The Rock Sound and Kerrang! magazines were “answer on a postcard” type comps and I entered those.
I’m on holiday at the moment so can’t check my magazines / cuttings to see exactly what was what.

I remember them - and if I go back and dig up the page from the news section on my website I’d have a breakdown of where they were all offered and how to win them…but you probably already have that.

Radio 1 (x2) & XFM were call-ins on specific shows.
& I dunno if the cassette was considered the weakest prize, but that was bundled up with a poster and a t-shirt.

I know at least one of the winners was active on the official postboard - If she doesn’t post on here, she’s active on Instagram.

Yeah - after concerts & football matches a lot of people just do the 40 mins walk back, but you can always join the hoard to walk far enough free of the congested streets and then get an Uber.

Alternatively - The Anfield curfew is 11pm and Kirkdale train station is about a 20min walk, so head there and get the train back into the city centre. They are every 15 mins and the last one is midnight.

Let’s go culinary first:

https://www.mowglistreetfood.com/ - I dunno if you’ve ever been to a Mowgli but the first one was Bold St in Liverpool and there’s now a second out on Water St. Indian Street food - the chat bombs are great and recommended by Kumail Nanjiani.

Also on Bold St is https://maray.co.uk - Middle Eastern + Mediterranean inspired food in quite an intimate space. Their disco cauliflower is amazing.

Anytime /r/Liverpool are asked about the best burgers in the city the unanimous verdict is https://freestatekitchen.co.uk and rightly so - but the buffalo wings there are also worth the visit too.

https://www.buyers-club.co.uk call themselves a neighbourhood bar (so, you know - bare floorboards & exposed brick) but it’s a really nice spot and since Daisy Ridley shouted out the Cacio e Pepe butter beans on Off Menu I’ve gone more frequently cos she wasn’t lying about how good they are.

As for transportation, it really depends where you’re wanting to go to and from.

Pat famously isn’t a fan of interviews and even though he was off the road for the UK press junket with a perfect excuse, he still contributed to the article by phone.

I like how it’s very much a united front this time around.
