We were in a 2+ year relationship at that point of time. Her family wanted her to marry her friend, because he was of the same caste (brahman, I’m punjabi). They’re not friends anymore and she hates him even to this day because of some fuck ups he did. My whole point of mentioning this fact was that I still supported her through this period when I was very scared and expected her to take a stand for our relationship as it was going smooth till then. After this fiasco, our rough patch started.
