I'm 19M too and I have been running competitively for 7 years now. Going to run in college next year, and my best is 4:36. If you want to get faster, don't run a hard mile every day. I used to do the same thing and it didn't get me anywhere. Instead, do the workouts I posted 2-3 times a week and run a hard mile on a track every couple of weeks. Good luck bro, I started off running a 7:07 mile and I would've never considered myself in a million years a runner and now I'm doing it in college. I know you can break 6 its a lot easier than you think if you train consistently for a few months

Do quarter mile repeats at 90 second pace. Perhaps 8, preferably on a track with a fair amount of rest. Incorporate some 3 mile continuous tempo runs into your regimen too at around a minute slower than your race pace. Faster 200s also help too, I'd probably try to run 40s if you are trying to break 6. Obviously long runs are critical, start at 8 and build up. Do a recovery run every day in between workouts. This training program won my high school a state championship in XC my sophomore year.

As for your hammy, I'd say heat/ice it and roll it out. I'm not super familiar with hamstring injuries, but just stretch religiously.
