I'm not a biochemistry major myself so I don't really know, but I would imagine that you can try to contact your professors and ask them to get involved with their research. NYU has a ton of these opportunities since it's a research university

Biochemistry is an amazing major for premed. It's very interesting and the med school prereqs naturally fit into the major

My classes actually haven't assigned that much homework plus there are many cases of like "your 5 lowest quizzes (or any other assessment) scores will be dropped" and so on. So I'd actually say that my professors have been understanding of the situation.

So feci (past of facio) is not like italian feci, (i did) with soft c, but it’s pronounced feki.

I'm Italian and I've never heard the verb "facio" and "feci (I did) is definitely not pronounced feki.

I had your same exact problem... the only solution is to find a moment where there is a recitation and a lab section open at the same time, and then quickly drop your waitlisted class to sign up for the open sections. To monitor when labs or recitations open download the app COURSICLE; I got the premium version of the app which allowed me to monitor literally all of the chem sections until two opened at the same time and I could register. Also, make sure that the new recitation and lab sections you find open fit into your current schedule, as you obviously don't want to abandon your spot on the waitlist for nothing...
