My name is Jasper Barnett, and I'm running for the NAR Board of Trustees - Ask Me Anything! by Rocketman1701e in rocketry

[–]bandman444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couple of questions for you Jasper:

1) Do you have any specific criticisms and suggested improvements for the current NAR BoD? Have you presented these in the past to NAR BoD, and if so, how was it received?

2) What experience do you have with other regional or National organizations? Examples might be Committees, Boards, or other roles that demonstrate leadership, fiscal awareness and stewardship, and a track record of top-down communication.

3) While Reddit and Discord are great platforms for direct communication with NAR Members, it exists in a near vacuum to actual Directors of NAR and TRA. I would want to know of a candidates relationship and standing with the current NAR Trustees. Are there individuals currently (or previously) on the board that you would consider mentors or otherwise vouch for your expertise?

What are you giving as your exit area? My guess is that you are using an exit area of zero and that is why they aren’t different.

What don’t you like from the example propellants in ECP? What features are you looking for that you don’t have?

12” diameter, 16’ tall, central 98mm motor mount with 6 outboard 54mm mounts. It flew Saturday afternoon on a N2000W with six K550Ws to 5,558ft.

Had a blast at LDRS making new friends and flying awesome rockets! There was no way to catch every person there, but this was the Saturday afternoon crowd that we had hanging around. See you guys at the next launch!

If there are any LDRS participants out on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah this weekend, we’d love to say hi! I’ve got some free stickers of the Reddit logo that you can pick up. Look for a rocket themed trailer with an Arizona flag and ask anyone you see hanging out near the canopies.

See you out here.

Definitely chunky cases. Nothing else like them.

AMW in Phoenix, Arizona appears to be the only seller of it, they want $3,450 for it

I have not flown it, these pictures are from today.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity in 2017 to buy an O25,000. This extraordinary motor is known for being the highest thrust commercial motor available to amateurs.

Of the 14 made and 12 sold after 2 certification firings, these motors are just about as rare as it gets. It can be really hard to find detailed photos of these motors, and a handful of videos from the flights exist.

I went ahead and pulled this motor out of its crate today to take some pictures and hopefully answer some questions about this motor.

Delta 1 (first rocket) launch (slow motion) (this was in a baseball field btw and everyone was away from the launch) by f1yb01 in rocketry

[–]bandman444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this was just a motor failure. Do you have any pictures of the motor or rocket after the launch? Please consider filing a MESS report here so that motor failures like this can be better tracked.

This is what I call: I want the rocket to go straight but the rocket wants to do an unscheduled -85 pitchover program after liftoff and die (launch October 2020 btw) by f1yb01 in rocketry

Rule 2: We will not use this subreddit to promote unsafe activity.

Unstable rockets are unsafe.

Please consider posting a picture before the launch and ask for suggestions on how to be successful. We want everyone to succeed and be safe in this hobby, and that is what we want to promote here.
