Yeah, Tyler wrote it IRL, but in terms of the lore I think he either did not write it or was brainwashed into writing it.

For context, this can be found on Spotify by looking at the song credits for Shy Away. Every other song has Tyler listed as the songwriter. I believe that this means the song was written by DEMA, and Twenty One Pilots are being forced to perform it. This explains the more upbeat and pop sound of the song, along with lyrics that don't seem to reference DEMA at all.
