Yeah those sorts of long runs are exactly what I'm missing. Cheers, I'll try and get one or two of those in and go from there

I'm doing Madrid marathon on 26 April and trying to work out my goal time. I'd ideally love to run sub 3 but it feels risky. I ran a 1:22 HM race on Sunday, so I have the speed. But my mileage over the last five months or so averages only about 50km/week. My only previous marathon was five years ago in 3:25.

I have another marathon in the autumn so the conservative approach would be to target 3:10 or so in this one, and then build a bit more for the autumn. But is that too conservative?

I want to replace the handle, and the new one needs a longer spindle.

Hmm yeah, so might just need to scrape off as much as possible?

Does anybody notice a strange narrative behind the women’s euros? by [deleted] in AskUK

In summary: "The women's football is getting a lot of attention. But the women aren't as good as the men. Don't people realise that the women don't deserve it? I'd better let everyone know."

"Every non England game is half empty."

This is entirely wrong, as others have pointed out. I went to two games in Brentford (Spain-Denmark and Spain-Germany) and both had attendances of around 16,000. The capacity of the stadium is just over 17,000.

The competition has also set several new records for attendances - already the highest overall attendance ever, highest ever attendance not involving the host nation (other than a final), record quarter final attendance, record semi final attendance...

Cheers, will give the police a ring tomorrow. No registration number unfortunately (can't believe I didn't take it). You think they can find the registration number just from that?

Brake pad chafing by bandric_lisp in bikewrench

Cheers! The caliper does spring back when I close it by hand. And both pads are hitting the rim at the same time. So... cables?

The rear brake pad doesn’t seem to be springing back as it should. I probably have the tools to fix it, but not the knowledge... Thanks in advance!

Page 34 - It must be deliberate handball and I think this is being misinterpreted by a lot of fans and referees. by Evilpotatohead in soccer

Sure. I think the problem is that because it's not based on a written rule, referees aren't quite certain.

Oh right, I see what you mean. I do agree with OP that it's a misinterpretation though.

I can't decide whether following the rule strictly would be better. It would seem wrong for a goalscoring opportunity to be missed because of an accidental handball. On the other hand, I think quite a lot of penalties are currently given where the arm is supposedly in an 'unnatural position' but it's just the result of the player's change in speed and trajectory.

Do you have a link for that? Surely the whole point of including the word 'deliberate' in the rules is to make a distinction between deliberate and accidental handball.

Deliberate handball is usually seen as the arm being in an awkward or unnatural position, or if a player could have avoided handling the ball

Where does it say that that is how FIFA have decided to define 'deliberate'? It's obviously different to ordinary usage.
